Alfie Lamb killer given 7 years

Haven’t seen another thread on this. The subhuman who crushed this little boy to death has been sentenced to just 7 years in prison. So, he’ll be out in about 4.

There are no words.

That’s no time at all for the taking of a life. What a rubbish judiciary we have.

The judge said he “...was satisfied the nightclub worker from Croydon moved his car seat back twice "for your own comfort".”

What bollocks. I hope there’s an appeal for a longer sentence.

The charge was "manslaughter" on the grounds [presumably] that it could not be proved that he intended to kill.

He was actually sentence to 5 1/2 years and the sentences for other offences to be served concurrently. He pleaded guilty at a late stage and so would get a small reduction.

No doubt there will be an appeal on the grounds of excessive leniency

2Jurors in the first trial heard Waterson was a controlling womaniser who had a violent temper and three previous convictions for attacking an ex-girlfriend and his sister's husband".

Ok , you call him 'subhuman' but his mother is equally to blame for allowing this subhuman to share Alfies life , put her child on the footwell and then LIE to protect her boyfriend .

Both should feckin rot

You're right, 70, how remiss of me. Two subhumans then.
That video of him running to keep up with them. So awful, and evidence of existing neglect.

It’s not long enough at all. That poor, poor little boy.
How is it that in the USA, some get 300+ years for multiple crimes yet over here 7 years is enough for taking a young life?

I felt so angry when I read this tonight. No justice for little Alfie. Every adult in that car should be in prison and Waterson should have got life.

What he did was heinous but words fail me regarding the mother that allowed it.

I'm not sure which is worse. He was let down by the one person on earth he should have been able to trust Sad

Rest in peace Alfie Flowers

How can the judge be satisfied it was an accident when he called 999 and pretended to be an innocent passerby 🤷🏻‍♀️

I left work early after reading this and went to pick my baby up from his childminder to give him a cuddle. Just horrific

I just keep replaying the details in my head.

He called out for her. It's just utterly incomprehensible.

This makes me so sad. That poor poor little lad.

This case also really moved me as well.
That poor little boy.
I really feel and I'm sure the usual suspects will come on and tell me I'm out of order and dreadful and not civilised and prison is about rehab etc.

However I strongly feel as a society we do not have a good justice system. I believe anyone who hurts a child should be severely punished.
With severe consequences.
Sex abuse, watching child sex abuse, hurting children... People don't seem to to get severe penalties.

As a society I feel in general we let children down especially those in care. We cannot protect them it seems (Rotherham and the nationwide gang culture of County lines and networks abusing girls).

Many young with broken homes, in care or even with learning difficulties (not disabilities) end up on the streets, in prison, excluded etc.

The others... The well educated are depressed and miserable. Yes other countries are worse but I really feel we need to get tough on anyone who hurts a child... We need to sort out checks and measures to keep dc in care safe.

Mama I agree that the others should have also been held culpable for standing by.

All of them adults who could have intervened and take that heat. He's a nasty bastard but wouldn't any adult take that punch? Than be afraid and silent and let a tiny child bear the brunt of that anger?

It would send a message, stop watching and doing nothing... Do something.

Even the fact he wasn't in a proper car seat.

That poor little boy, I dread to think what his short life was like. I don’t understand how anyone could do something like that or not attempting to stop him from doing it?

Isn’t his dad a former Tory minister. Could this have had some influence on the pathetic sentence?
It’s sickening. I blame the ‘mum’ too.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 14/11/2019 19:30

Absolutely agree.

But then I was reading today how many children in need are yet to be born. How many will be born into homes where they will be abused and neglected.

It's just absolutely floored me today. That poor boy. All those poor children.

Fucking disgraceful sentence, he and the mother (she is not fit to be given that title) are the worst of the worst

Report
Roselilly36 · 14/11/2019 19:35

Terrible sentence, for such an awful crime, but a case of friends in high places, I expect.

I am not usually of the hang 'em, flog 'em, throw away the key, opinion, and I don't usually comment on these sort of threads, but when I heard the sentence I thought that is simply not enough. I hope that it is looked into as it appears to be unduly lenient to me. I agree that everyone in the car was culpable.

TheQueef · 14/11/2019 19:41

You've got to be stone cold to witness that and then lie.
I despair sometimes.

Report

Just utterly heartbreaking.

Sends me under reading things like this... then my mind won't stop thinking of all the ones that never actually get murdered or hospitalised but just subtle to daily abuse. Makes me so angry, I have 2 friends who would give anything for the chance to bring up a child and there is scum like this.

She's as much to blame as him, if not more.

Disgusting people, hope they suffer badly

Report
eminems · 14/11/2019 20:01

This countries judicial system is a farce.

Laughable sentence and an insult to the victim.

Usual practice in the uk imo.
