How old do kids start liking vouchers?

I used to LOVE getting some gift vouchers for Christmas. But I can't remember from what age. When did your kids actually start getting excited about vouchers? I have so many godchildren and nieces and nephews and don't know what they already have or what they like.

Dd is 9 and loves a voucher - ds is 12 and still isn't chuffed unless it's a PlayStation one

Hate vouchers especially when it's to one shop.
I find the best ones are a one for all in the posit office.

Unless it's for Amazon /iTunes /Google Play, I think they too prescriptive.

It's no fun trudging around trying to get vouchers used up.

Cash is best if you are not buying anything.

Around 8 or 9 mine started liking cash or vouchers.

Cash is preferable!

My dd hates vouchers she has announced it for several years now she is in her 20s and i started getting them when she was about 14 and stopped at 18 . I love a voucher as does Dd2.

When the vouchers were for enough money to buy what they want, especially if pooled together.

I would say however, they prefer the cash, I have become a money origami expert just for that reason...

On the subject of just younger ones, one of my niece's at the grand old age of 6 is particularly partial to cold hard cash and/or vouchers for Build A Bear and Smyths, and one of the wishes on her Santa list is "Envelopes of money" envelopes cutely spelt "envalopps". Although she is also a big LOL fan but she does save a lot of her money and has a fair bit put away.

Mine (young teens) prefer cash or Amazon vouchers, I often end up buying gift cards for other shops off them a few months after their birthday or Christmas.

Vouchers are annoying. Especially for rip off kids shops like Claire's accessories. A ten pound voucher got my dd 2 hair scrunchies and 1 pound change! Theres nothing for a pound in there!! She would have been better off receiving a fiver in a card and getting 3 scrunchies for 1.50 in primark!

DS7 would like an Amazon voucher- he knows good things like Lego, books, dressing up come from there.

My 2 prefer money, as vouchers are too prescriptive. Plus there's a risk of shops going bust and losing your "cash" if it's just for one shop.
