For a 14 year old relative.

I know she likes make-up, I never wear it myself so clueless.

Can anyone recommend any fun but desirable brands/items/sets? Looking to spend about £10.

Revolution is really good, for £10 you can get maybe a big palette and a small one, and the packaging is very cute. So many colours too.

www.sleekmakeup.com/uk

Definitely a good one for younger teens.

They do better ones than this, but for illustrative purposes that’s just some of the more young teen range. They have much more demure looking palettes with lovely packaging if that’s not her thing and some Christmas palettes too.

Ooh, I really like the packaging on the Revolution ones! Especially the melted chocolate bars! Definitely fun.

I don't really know her style. I think she is a typical teen, leggings, branded t shirts, trainers, sparkle. She has light brown hair.

Are there any colours that are more "in"? I was thinking pinky rose goldy silvery lilacy shimmery sparkly type stuff. But as I said, I am clueless.

I was having a look on boots for makeup for my 14 year old niece and came across the Florence by mills range. It’s by Millie bobby brown from stranger things and is mainly aimed at teens I think? It’s slightly more on the expensive side but not crazy expensive, most of the items are less than £20 anyway. Plus there’s nothing too heavy in the range, just tinted moisturiser, rather than heavy foundation a brow gel rather than dark eyebrow pencil, and pinky girly shades in the eyeshadow palettes rather than blacks and greys. I hate to see young teens today in really heavy makeup and the stuff in this range seems to be more for the youthful and fresh look.

My niece like a lot of teens these days is much more ‘with it’ than I was at 14 and seem to know more about makeup thanks to YouTube and whatnot. & while I would have been more than happy with one of those huge cheap makeup sets from Argos, I think my niece would definitely prefer quality over quantity. So I’m just getting her 2 or 3 items from the Florence by mills range.

Go into Superdrug, think big palettes rather than quality. They are usually on 3 for 2

Sleek solstice highlight palette. It has won awards. W7 do dupes for Huda beauty eye palettes, which are popular at the moment. Dusk till dawn by W7 is a dupe of the Huda desert dusk palette

You can get both of the above on Amazon

I spent all last week looking at make-up and I was clueless too!! My DD14 is new to make-up so I was looking at more of a basic starter kit. I can recommend Revolution too - Superdrug have a 3 for 2 offer on cosmetics. There’s also lots of YouTube videos You/DD can watch - it was quite an education! I ended up buying a multi-liner, lip glosses and eyeshadow palette plus some cheapie mascaras (but they weren’t Revolution).

I wouldn't get make up for a teen especially if you dont know what sort they wear. As a teen I wore make up and whenever I got it as a gift it was unused for years then binned. In the sets you get I would maybe use one or two things at the most.

Ah, sorry I missed it was for a relative. I would still go with Revolution- maybe one of the donuts, they looked cute.

Revolution is good but if she’s into makeup then I’d get her a voucher for somewhere better

Dd14 wears makeup but will wear any inc revolution and even primark

Dd12 however is obsessed with makeup and watching you tube lessons. She’s more after morphe, urban decay etc, James Charles etc. She doesn’t wear it out as she’s too young but she’s amazing at it and knows all the better products - she’d rather have voucher towards a better brand

Revolution is amazing, i know my teen cousin uses it and a lot of my friends - styles ranging from Goths to very girly girls and bare lool casual ladies.

Thanks, I think I am going to have a look at Revolution in Superdrug and choose a few little bits.
