Lemon Pannetonne - where the devil did I buy it?

Last year I bought a Lemon Pannetonne (sp) from either Lidl or Aldi but I cannot see anything on either website.
It was a fairly big one with lemon curd running through it.

Anyone seen them in their travels ?
TIA

I've seen it in Lidl this year already.

Lidl here have pandoro and normal pannetone but no sign of a lemon one.
I had a normal pannetone from there last year and it was lovely. Got one this year for a coffee morning and it wasn't the same at all, was all dry.

I got one from Carluccio’s last year and it was incredible! They were doing buy one get one half price of something so not too expensive either.

Lidl had plain/chocolate chip/bits of candied fruit

Not the lemon curd one

I could just buy the plain one (from anywhere) and spread on the lemon curd ...

Ooh, you just gave me the idea to do a lemon curd swiss roll for Christmas lunch.... Can't bear Christmas pudding, and don't much like Christmas cake - panettone is about the only thing with candied and dried fruit that I do like, and even then I'm a bit meh about it

Lidl, but they haven’t had the lemon one in this year, gutted. I’m going to doctor one with lemon juice and a little lemon curd.

Someone used to buy them for me, I hated them but couldn't say anything. Until I was given one with chestnut puree. I ate the bits with the puree and dumped the rest.

What is so special about them? They are like slimming bread that has been left to go stale and dry with a scattering of dried fruit and too much weird flavouring, like fake vanilla.

I'm a regular at:

Aldi
ASDA
Tesco
Co Op

and have not seen it in any of those places.

It sounds lovely though, could you maybe make one?

There's one in the gorgeous, overpriced Italian deli down the road from me: it looked lovely

Don't know but I have just bought a few different flavoured ones from Aldi and they are immense!

This is a nice recipe for one - not too eggy.

I always make a panettone at Christmas and Easter.

I find any more than the number of eggs in this recipe makes it taste too much of eggs (for instance the BBC good food recipe has five whole eggs).

Massive hijack alert!!!!!

I don’t usually like Panatone but for a few years I bought some from a school fete where one of the mums ran a stall with the most amazing panarones with apricot, fig, chocolate, radicchio, etc. I gave some to Italian and French friends and they raved about them - light, not dry, not too sweet really tasty!

We aren’t at the school now and I can’t remember the name of the make.

So - where can I get amazing panatone - not like the stuff that tastes like old candy floss with hard raisins in it??!

I ended up with a Sainsbury plain one and a jar of lemon curd. I will do a Self assembly Effort.

I was in Lidl this week. no Lemon ones there , only fruit or chocolate.
