I could kick myself. I have been in the vicinity of these little buggers 4 times since September. FOUR TIMES.

Did I buy one? Of course not.

That would have been too sensible. Seen as my 5 yo wants one and has been talking about them since before they became the Hatchimals of 2017.

Is there any inside info that you can share with me about how to get one? Or will I have to resort to giving my hard earned cash to an evil, scheming individual with low morals who is selling them at inflated prices on ebay?

Oh dear op.

Well it seems people are striking up relationships with toy seller staff. To get that info of when they come out to get one reserved, as well as constant rotating round all the places that stock them at various hours of the day to see if a new delivery has come in. Good luck op.

You can place an advance order with The Entertainer Store with delivery before Christmas prices from £15 plus p&p.

Toys r us occasionally have them as well ordered one via internet mind you it was at 4.00 in the morning!

Good luck

Smyths toys has a stock locator online with some shops having them in if you are close enough. I managed to get a playset last week, took weeks of hunting.

Thank you for the heads up about the entertainer pre order. I wasn't clicking into individual ones because they all said out of stock so I didn't see that option.

Lets hope they can stick by their promise of delivery before Christmas!

The entertainer did as promised when we pre-ordered so you should be OK.

We were lucky in a sense because DD wanted to buy one out of her birthday money in October. I swiftly realised they were leaving the shelves as quickly as they were hitting them so pre-ordered a few for Christmas instead through The Entertainer (she was not amused that they were sold out so hoping to delight her for Christmas). Ours were promised to be delivered before 20th Nov and we received them last week.

Good luck with yours

they keep flashing on and off on amazon. You can set up an alert to get notified of stock. I've managed to get one for my DD that way (just hope its a real one and not a fake!)

I have seen them a few times in morrisons. My daughter wants the unicorn, only available in toys r us, typical!

It's worth looking the supermarkets when you're there. That's how we got a blue one that became surplus to requirements as we also preordered the sloths from smyths. They got delayed a couple of times but they turned up last week. I couldnt bring myself to go the eBay route with the spare, and I've just given it a friend who needed one for their dc. I think they'll be back in for Christmas.

The other thing which has been mentioned on threads is to log on to toys r us early in the morning and see if they are available.

Anyone else think that mumsnet is probs responsible for the fingerling shortage in the first place ;)

Sign up for stock informer - I've had success on 'in demand' items in previous years. Also the Kids at Christmas FB page has alerts when in stock.

Sign up for stock informer - I got 2 through Amazon this way. One for dd birthday last week and one incase dd2 loved it and asked for one for christmas 😂

They are pretty awesome - provided lots of laughs and fun so far (I've even played with it!) Frank has been a welcome addition to the family, even if he does have wind issues he's currently hanging off the bannister 😂😂

I signed up to amazon back in stock alerts and when I was leaving for work this morning at 5am I happened to check the email and it said the pink ones were available to pre order. Would have preferred a different colour but wasn’t going to be fussy. I bought it and it’ll be delivered week if the 4 Dec.

I ended buying a 2 pack with a seesaw for £40 in Smyths last week because I panicked that I wouldn't be able to get a single one for DD.
One of them is going to be forced on DS even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't even want one Grin

I went into Smyths today to pick up a couple of other bits and would you believe I got a sloth! It was just sitting there on the shelf beside all the swing set packs. There were no others and not even a space on the shelf where the single ones go.

I had to buy it. But now if the pre order one comes I will have two. Two different ones. So that will be a row over who gets what one. DD1 didn't even want one, but of course if DD2 has two that would never do...
