I have been to a local garden centre twice this week and driven through a small village where one house is still bedecked with lights and the tree is still glowing away in the bay window.
Anyone else seen houses with the tree still up?
Gave me a little happy glow i must say !

I'm always sad when I see it as I assume someone's sick

Trees down but my lights have been up 3 years now. Big bro put them on the outside of the 2nd floor balcony and all round the outside of our windows while I was out and I can't work out how he got up there!

This was v much garden all lit up with multi coloured fairy lights and tree proudly blazing away in the bay window of a little cottage!
It was enough to make you gasp and feel a bit jealous of their perfect life! A bit like an article in a design magazine !

Yesterday, Candlemas, was the last day of the Christmas season (which starts on 24th December). Our church still had the advent scene on display until then. I wouldn't be surprised if someone quite religious decided to keep their tree up till Candlemas as a protest against the secular commercialism of the non-religious festival of the same name which starts the day after Halloween and ends before new years day

secular commercialism of the non-religious festival

You know, it really bugs me when people equate Christmas with commercialism (Not having a go at you PP.). Nobody forces anybody to buy anything. It gets my goat even more as I've had a ton of emails (NotOTHS, Mankind, Matalan, Etsy, etc.) about buying Valentines gifts. 'Hurry, only 14 days left to buy a gift!' Where are the people complaining that Valentines Day is too commercial?! Not trendy to complain about that, only Christmas!
Rant over.

We are probably overthinking it. Probably just someone who loves seeing their lights brightening january up a little bit.
Or a respecter of candlemas.
Think i might join them next year!
