How much do you spend on presents at Christmas

Child is only 1 and has had a £45 activity centre to crawl around it and a few little books etc so about £60 total. Me and DH set a £50 limit and everyone else is £20

300 on each dc but that includes stocking and Xmas eve pj's etc.

£100 on DH and £10 on everyone else, parents get £15 though. I've a huge family so big gestures aren't possible

Dp I think I've spent about £250, ds about £350, my family couples £40, nieces and nephews £30-40 each and DPs family we do a secret Santa so £20

This year I have probably spent around £200 in dd2 and £250 on dd1 - this includes Xmas jammies and their stockings etc.

We spend about £70 each on my in laws and my mum and her partner.

DH and I are buying a new camera this year which will be a joint present. It's much more than we usually spend. We will buy a couple of extras too as a surprise which would usually be around £40. I would spend much more if I could afford it to be honest.

I reckon between the three dc we have spent about £900-£1k between them. They don't get much, if anything through the year and what they asked for we could afford so have splashed out this year. Last year was probably less than half that much. We don't have set amounts for people generally, have spent £150 on my brother (who hasn't had a Christmas present for about 4 years as there is nothing he wanted and has set up home this year) but will spend no more than £10 no bil and sil. Nieces and nephews up to £20, depending on age, older ones, cash, younger ones toy up to £10. Parents, not decided yet, but anywhere between £15-£50 depending on what we get for them.
Dh tends to spend more on me than I do on him, but I think that is more because he is thanking me for sorting his Christmas out. He only has to worry about my gift. I worry about EVERYONE else and sort out the whole festive period, food, entertaining, hosting events etc.
I only spend what we can afford and this changes year by year.

DD £300 this year so far. May spend more. She has a chronic illness and deals with it so well that I like to spoil her. Mum and brother £50 each, grandad £25, all other extended family between £5 and £25. Present for ex (from DD) around £50 and he usually spends about £100 on me.

All together about £500-£600. This is bargain shopping with discounts, codes etc so what I've bought for everyone is worth a lot more. I've only paid full price for one item.

30 each on work colleagues (two) and twenty on another. I couldnt do my job without them.

Then 70 each on DC - pre school age I got in sales

Dh sorts his side of things out. I cut out all other gifts except wine for neighbours and about 30 for childminder.

I don't spend as much these days but even even I had a very well paid job in the city I never spent more than about £60-£80 on anyone be that my husband or mother.

I've not stated shopping properly this year but for close family including my 2 year old I will spend about £30 each maybe a bit more on DS with the odd bits and pieces but even £30 feels a lot for a a 2 year old (who already has so many toys he has been given) and who will get more from family come Christmas Day.

As much as I enjoy buying and giving gifts for people - especially if it's something you know they will really love and are expecting, Christmas is more about seeing family and friends, spending time together and sharing lots of yummy food rather than the gifts.

Everyone to their own, whatever makes you happy and doesn't put you in debt (ideally, I know this isn't an option for some people to even enable them to give their children something small to open come Christmas morning sadly).

About £50 per child and same for DH. Then Father Christmas buys small people something extra - this year that is £35. MIL has had about £30 spent on her and for the rest just token presents. Children will also choose something for each other for about £15.

DC will also choose each other a present, around £10-£15 each

DH will have 3 presents, one from each DC, one from me. If DC choose small things, I will get DH something bigger from me, otherwise mine will be a token present. Probably around £50 altogether for the 3 things.
DH will do the same for me, three presents, from him and DC.

Nephews and nieces, godchildren, a couple of close friends' kids: around £10 - £15 each.

DH's adult family members, and a couple of close friends of ours, around £10 each.

My adult family members around £15 - £25 each. I might spend a bit more on my parents - £35 perhaps.

Between stbxh and I we spend a lot. Ds has a new mountain bike which was....wait for it....£750, this was out of stbxh pocket not mine, he is madly into bikes himself but I am sure he could have got a decent one for less than half that. I think all in all around £1k a child. In my defence I save all year for Christmas so can afford it and no debt is ever accumulated. Do they need that much spending on them? Absolutely not. Do I like spending that much on them? Absolutely yes!
