Evening, I seem to have an endless list of ideas for my little boy (2) but struggling for my daughter...any ideas?! What are you getting? Thought about a Camera but can't decide between a kiddizoom or an actual camera? Would she outgrow the kiddizoom quickly?

My 6yo (boy) is having a Kano and a go-kart. Both pretty gender neutral.

Imo the kiddizoom is quite babyish and the images aren't very clear.

Agree- a 6yo could easily cope with a simple, regular digital camera.

My 6 year old DD is mainly after Lego Friends this year... The Amusement Park roller coaster will be her main present

My daughter is 6. Last year we misguidedly got her a tablet instead of the kiddizoom, thinking that it would last her longer, she'd learn more etc. However, both she and my son really enjoy playing with his kiddizoom and she still wanted one. My son is a bit of a collector of that kind of thing and also has binoculars that capture moving images and a playskool projector cam- can recommend both of those. Because my daughter still was so interested in the kiddizoom etc we got her the action cam that goes underwater etc and she loves that. We got it for about £30.

We got DD the Kiddizoom when she was 4 and she wasn't that interested. Now that I have got her a real digital for Xmas (Nikon, £49 in Argos) she is suddenly interested in the Kiddizoom again. She likes all the special effects she can do on the KZ but I expect it won't hold her attention for much longer.

My mum bought DD a Kiddizoom, it sucked. Awful quality photos, really hard to review and delete them. A year later we gave DD an old digital camera we had banging around (obselete now with smartphones) and that was much better.
