We went last year and have booked again for this year. Yes it's expensive but it was brilliant Smile

Brilliant - I've excepted that it's expensive but want to make sure we'll have a fab time :)

Is it all outside... would it ruin it if it's raining?

Thanks for your comments and pics :)

I'm getting excited already!

We took Ds 2 years ago, it was a very expensive but a fantastic day out.

We were lucky when we went as it was cold and crisp, despite last winter being pretty mild. I think if it was raining it would be a bit annoying but most of it is indoors so as long as you had a waterproof coat you'd be fine. Not sure what would happen with the ice skating.

We booked this time at 3:30pm that way it's getting dark and you can make the most of all the lights etc.

I wouldn't bother getting elf jingles as you can use normal money and it was a bit of a hassle exchanging them to be honest.

We ate the the 'restaurant' and it was actually really nice and reasonable for somewhere like that.

Dont wear white trainers, the car park can be a bit muddy if its rained but we cut along the woodland bit so avoided a lot of it until we spotted the Elves then decided we didnt care about mud!

Its half and half, indoors and outdoors. We had a dry but cold day so im not sure how badly rain affects the experience. Story time with Mary, the gingerbread baking and the panto start are all indoors.

Our photos of Ds with Santa take pride of place at home.

We didn't tell Ds until we woke him up the morning we were booked to go. We put his personal invite from Santa by his bed so he woke up to a massive surprise!

How expensive is expensive?

Report
fightingback · 24/09/2016 20:52

We paid about 70.00 each ticket but it was worth it. The prices change as you get closer to Xmas i think.

You'll still get tickets when the next lot are released in September that's how we got ours last year and it was fine Smile

We went last year. Was particularly expensive as we flew down from Scotland and had to stay over 2 nights. But absolutely worth every penny. When Santa asks the dc about the details you have provided mine were gobsmacked. Can't afford to.go again this year😓

We have been three times and loved it every time, definitely worth the money. Book later on in the day as its lovely when it's just getting dark. Wear sensible shoes or wellies. There is ice skating so spare trousers for the children are helpful in case they fall. We have always had lovely weather but I don't think rain would be awful, a lot of it is inside.

Flipping eck £70 each ticket. I've just laid £456 for a family of four. I'm hoping it lives up to it reputation x

Second the comment about fc talking to the kids about the things you had told him - even I wondered if he really did know them because it was so believable!

It was amazing. As it is ticketed according to time, it is never going to be too packed at any point - so when you go in to a room to make toys/gingerbread etc there will always be a place for your child. The theming is incredible. The final walk to Santa (guided by your own elf) is so sweet, especially when Santa tells your child things that he couldn't possibly know unless he is real.
Highly recommended, and with the sweet touch of an invitation and a thank you letter for Christmas morning it is all so sweet.

I was expressing surprise that someone managed to get it at £70 a ticket. Mine was £109 a ticket, then added £20 worth of elf pds: think maybe because it's a Saturday and weekend before xmas, going 17th Dec x
