Lego for 8 yo boy

I have seen tons of Lego threads and deals and have regrettably ignored them as I was merrily thinking I had only girls to buy for, so lots of pink sparkly things.

I'd forgotten the neighbours! 11 yo girl done. 8 yo boy into Lego...but that's all I know! Don't really want to spend more than £8ish...is it impossible?

Plenty of sets in that price bracket around from various series. Or get him 3 Mixels (£3 each) allowing him to build a large one.

Lego creator set - car / helicopter etc. Have a look on Amazon for an idea.

Tesco usually have Lego City sets for £8-10. They're my go to for birthday presents.

If he is really into Lego, it might be best to check with his parents about sets he already has. I can recommend the Mixel series - they are £3 each (so you could get 2 or 3), and are great value.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Looking on Amazon still not seeing much in my price range - unless it's super tiny!!

Lego do gift vouchers or you could get an Amazon voucher so he can put it towards a bigger model. I always found that my Lego mad ds always got the Lego city sets from friends ect but he ended up with the same ones over and over again.

The lego mixels are now half price in smyths so you could get 2 full sets (tribes) for £9

You can also pick up some of the 3 in 1 creator sets for around £10 which are great value for money

A colour set of 3 Mixels or a Lego Star Wars micro ship.

My 8yo has had a lot of play from mixels. And we have a lot of Lego. He's asked for ninjago for Christmas but that's probably mostly out of your budget.

This is £8, Lego and in biggish packaging. Fits the bill?

The Ninjago spinjitzu thingies are around eight quid and great fun

Toysrus will price match anything even from Amazon. We have had over £20 off some sets so worth a look in there. Ninjago and starwars seem to have some cheap not too small sets.
