Christmas

4 year old (girl)? What was a hit at Christmas?

Dd is 4 middle of February, I'm stuck for ideas for her birthday. For Christmas with such a big family it seems like she got a little bit of everything - a scooter, some lego, new pram for dolls, craft things, some puzzles and orchard toy game. I don't know what to get her - the only thing she has asked for is Peppa pig toys - we alredy have play things similar and I think they are a bit young for her really and the frozen castle which is too much imo. Any big hits?

Sorry for mine the big hit was peppa pig playsets! She's 4 and a quarter and plays with them a lot. The sylvanian family house she asked for, she hasn't touched. Also liked simple board games (her favourites are where's my cupcake and three little pigs - orchard board games).

DD loved her dolls house, her duplo, her Snow White dress and her brother's toy drill and workman's tool belt Grin

dd2's loved her Anna dress - she'd actually asked for Merida but Santa had already acquired Anna -, large art kit with pens, pencils and paints; little CD player for her room and CDs, both music and story CDs. MIL also got my 7yo a toy cappucino machine that's a bit young for her, and dd2 has played with that a lot.

BIG hits with my almost 4-year-old girl were:
-Design and Drill (power tools for toddlers - awesome!)
-Galt first sewing kit
-Primary science lab set
-Jabadabado wooden pin-a-shape
Also, the Usborne Questions and Answers lift-the-flap books are brilliant for answering all those questions 4-year-olds ask! We have the original and the body book.

My 4 year old DD loves her flying light up fairy, her Jess the cat, her light up cuddle pillow but mostly she's been playing with her basket of little figures, most of which she had before (Sylvanian family, playmobil etc).

Oh thanks some really good suggestions already. Lizzie which peppa pig sets does she have? We have a few happyland sets and it seems lots of the playsets offer similar things.

I think I'm struggling so much as we also have dd2 who is 2 in March and we got quite a fee things that can't be done when she's around small pieces or craf that dd1 would be upset if dd2 scribbled all over it. So time for some of those things are limited eg lego. I like the dolls house idea too and possibly even the workbench.

We alredy have a few of the Usbourne flap books but I'd forgotten there are others she loves from the library.

Little unbranded dolls house. Not quite the same as the Frozen castle but nonetheless she has played with it every day :)

She already had the playground, grandpa's train and grandpa's boat, and she got the campervan and playschool sets.
Second the keyboard and microphone idea, her cousin (same age) has one and she loves playing with that when we visit!

DD is 4 in March and loves little figures and play sets
She loves ponies and Santa brought her a stable for them so she's very happy with that, she got a few Sofia the First play sets which have gone down well but her very favourite things are the Disney Princess magiclip dolls, she's hardly put them down
Oh and busy books! She loves busy books!

Mine got a noisy baby Annabelle which hasn't left her side. The stupid blood Snow Glow Elsa DH brought back from the US was played with for 40 mins and left in a corner!

My 4.5 DS has been playing obsessively with the Disney princess enchanted cupcake game at his grandparents' house, ignoring the hot wheels set his clearly less enlightened parents got him! Despite my aversion to all things Disney princess (for boys or girls) I have to admit it's a great toy.

you could get her some Playmobil? - sort of slightly more grown up Happyland. You can get a house or princess castle so doubles up as a dolls house.
Scooter if she hasn't got one.
Dressing up stuff.
Duplo - DD got a disney princess duplo castle when she was 4 which she loved.

The peppering playsets are ratherbrilliant imo... Dd has them all I think, but best ones are the heater skelter, school, grandpa pigs train, lots of figures, big wheel, track, campers, and the main house with the car. She plays them most days, and at the moment covers them with playdough etc to make new dresses!
I have had ours for two years or so building up a big set but I believe resale value is ok?

My dds are 3 and 5, and they got a kiddizoom camera for Xmas. So far it's been played with every day. There have been tears too, as they find it hard to share it. They take pictures of everyone, everything.

My dd3 will be 4 in Feb, she loved : Sparkle - a cat with a light up bow, magi clip Princess dolls (Argos), a set of Disney Princess figures (Disney Store). Her absolute favourite is two sets of Melissa & Doug magnetic dress up dolls.

For her birthday she's getting Sylvanian Families.

my dd's are 6 and 2 they both love figures and I find happy land brilliant as theres a wide range of toys available. dd1 will still choose it to play with over most other toys. she was given sylvannian families last xmas and hasnt touched it so we sold it. shes never asked for it! we have a wide range of figures which all go in the happyland and add to so for xmas this year she got a frozen figure set and princess and the frog.

if u are choosing peppa pig toys I found most of them flimsy and badly made (was buying 3 yrs ago second hand so unsure about now) but one thats lasted well was the camper van and there was a school set which had most of the main characters. not sure if they still make them though.

Other things that are v popular in our house over the last few years have been busy books, basic lego bricks, doll and buggy, dressing up costumes/accessories, games - monkey madness, hungry hippos, tummy ache, buckaroo, snap are favourites here. and this year (xmas and birthday) they have had a finger puppet theatre, tent and hobby horse which have been popular Grin
