Help! I need a gift for a "broody" 15 year old. He apparently likes Americana and things that you keep wrapped in their packaging. I am at a loss. It needs to be around £15-20 and be ordered from Amazon. Any ideas??

Oh broody as in teenager rather than wanting a baby

By "things that you keep wrapped in their packaging" I mean the type of collector's items you put on display fully wrapped.

What do you mean by broody? Only meaning I know is wanting a baby

Josie314 Tue 16-Dec-14 22:28:00

Lol- yes he doesn't want a baby! That was bad wording, but it is how my MIL described him to me when I asked for her help. She then said if she had an idea, she would have bought it herself.

I think it means: philosophical, deep, thoughtful, quiet etc

Maybe : music, clothes, books?

Josie314 Tue 16-Dec-14 22:30:11

Google says:

Broody - thoughtful and unhappy

Brooding rather than broody grin Some Star Trek memorabilia?

Stealthpolarbear Tue 16-Dec-14 22:31:19

Nirvana cd (prob showing my age)
£20 note - then he can brood slightly richer

Jinglebells99 Tue 16-Dec-14 22:32:20

I think you mean brooding? Rather than broody! Cos I think that just means wanting a baby. I think you need more info as to what he collects?

traviata Tue 16-Dec-14 22:35:50

a portable speaker

a cover for ipad/phone etc if you can find out what he has by way of gadgets

Yes, 'brooding', not broody, thank goodness grin

DandyHighwayman Tue 16-Dec-14 22:37:29

Stealthpolarbear Tue 16-Dec-14 22:39:03

A my littl pony might just get through in the irony stakes
And it could be displayed in its box
But not the ever irritating pinkie pie

PacificDogwood Tue 16-Dec-14 22:39:33

Amazon has some cufflinks and 'Victorian' goggles

PacificDogwood Tue 16-Dec-14 22:39:58

Would he be interested in Pop Vinyl figures? They're collectible and according to DS you absolutely cannot play with them... They are for looking at hmm

That's the original site but I have seen them on Forbidden Planet and Amazon

turdfairynomore Tue 16-Dec-14 22:54:53

Thanks for all the suggestions - really useful! Hopefully I'll be able to pull together something he will find acceptable. :-)

My 13yo DS has a pinkie pie and is getting an mlp t shirt for Christmas. The website thinkgeek has a ton of all sorts of stuff... And 15yo dd has just been given tix for comic con. DS is going to be beside himself.
