Anyone else have to write a Christmas family quiz?!

Last year's one was so dire I said I would write it... and have left it until now! I wondered if we pooled questions then it wouldn't take as long? Anyone else up for sharing questions - and answers?

We do them every now and then

I'm toying with the idea of doing a surprise one this year, they really are great craic!

If there are a good few kids in the family i have a great suggestion for one of the rounds!

I did one once where you had to name the baby photos - it was hilarious how many got their own kids mixed up. Grin

Ooh I just started a thread about this a few weeks back and got some brilliant suggestions- not sure how to link but you could do a search and have a look.

Is it for a wide age range? I have set different questions for each dd and dh so they can all have a good chance!

Which ones did you choose bogies?
If you have an age range, I love thinking up questions :) and a cleverness range also... Xmas Grin

It's just for adults from 20s to 60s,they always do it on general knowledge but I think it's unfair on different ages so thought a kind of 'have I got news for you' style for questions from the past year would be fairer, such as how many poppies were there at the Tower of London? Was the previous thread in the Christmas section?

Ahh mine was maybe a bit more basic than that and totally about Christmas. Grin Yes it was in the Christmas topic. Right general knowledge questions.... Ill have a think!

My festive quiz in chat might help. It is Christmas-themed, some easier than others. It could be a start Smile

For any wrong answers, you could have a list of forfeits: pin the carrot on the snowman, drink out of the wrong side of the glass etc.

Try the newspapers and current affairs mags like The Week and cull the best bits from their Christmas edition quizzes...

our family has tried, but all family members are (1) very very competitive and (2) differ wildly in intelligence / areas of specialist knowledge and (3) are adept at googling. So it is almost impossible to get good questions. I don't have easy access to baby photos either.

Our work one is great. Done in 'rounds' with different themes. For example:

  • Diagram of blank monopoly board with the numbers 1 to 10 on various squares. Name the square for each question number.

  • A map with 10 numbered places tip-exed out. Name the blanks. (Could be local street map, map of UK, map of Europe, Map of world)

  • Ten pots of a few crisps. Name the flavours

  • Ten pots of jelly babies. Name the flavours

  • Ten pots of baby food. Name the food.

  • Photo of large group of celebrities (for example Band Aid 30 would be good this year). Name the numbered celebrities.

  • Name the flag

  • Name the royal family member (from photos)

  • Name the celebrity from baby photos

  • Name the parts of the body/organs
