Yes! But we are in Canada and it is the norm. We have white lights which go around the trees at the front and around the windows etc, also some candy cane lights that go in the ground. I really want a cute snowman or similar big ornament to go on the porch - but my sensible head is wondering where we would store it after Christmas!
Still i've got my eye on one of these cute fellows...

We also do a wreath on the door.

People have already started putting their lights up here, but we will probably wait until beginning of Dec.

Look forward to reading what others do... :)

I always hang a wreath on the door. I'd like to get some outdoor lights but I'm not sure where to put them or how to power them. I don't know if people put the cable through the window (but wouldn't it leave a gap?).

We don't do the outside of our house but my DH spends the last weekend of November putting the display up at my mums ,that way its ready to switch on on December 1st. We have icicles on 3 levels around the house . Net lights on all the conifers ,real trees with lights on the lawn and several animated reindeer on the lawn and up the side of the drive . We have outdoor sockets and boxes fitted . It's all in white lights and very tasteful.

V tempted to bung a few Poundland inflatables on top of our flat-roofed extension this year to irritate our lovely but rather particular neighbours opposite Grin

Just a red heart berry wreath on the door and pearl fairly lights on the kitchen windowsill that can be seen from outside.

I love plain white lights on trees but we have none.

Think it's time for an airing of this pic:

Shock Is that for real clam?! That must have done wonders for neighbourly relations!

No nothing. I suggested a wreath one year, but dh thinks they look tacky! Tbh not sure how we'd attach one anyway as most of our front door is glass.

For door wreaths, you can get plastic hooks which attach to the glass with a suction cup. They're quite effective - have never known mine to fall off, anyway. Homebase sell them.

Ktay No idea. Someone posted it on my FB page last year. Struck me as amusing.

White lights around the arch over the front door and on the small conifer.

We had one of them hanging ball things one year but some cheeky git nicked it. We heard the gate bang, looked out the window and someone had cut the ribbon and gone off with it in a car Shock

I want to decorate and saw a lovely wreath with two trees on QVC but i am worried it will be stolen!

No because I don't have an outside socket and don't know how to wire one up- couldn't trust me OH to do it either. I will have a wreath and I have a huge porch which is mostly glass so will be stringing up lots of white/blue icy lights in there. Will be my first xmas in this house and I put up lots of lights at Halloween which liiked amazing, so I can't wait!!

We used to but the front of our house is very exposed and all of our outdoor decorations got battered in the last lot of high winds. Expecting more wind this year so we won't bother

I bought a wreath this year for the first time Grin I don't think it'll get stolen, but testing it out with a £3.99 plain one decorated with cheap tinsel this year and will probably upgrade at some point if it turns out I am surrounded by honest folk Grin

I have solar Christmas garden lights, including a set of fairy lights that I want to get a real tree for to sit in the middle of the front garden.

Will have a wreath on the door and ds solar 'Santa stop here' sign.

I also have a pair of wonderfully tacky motion activated singing snowmen but they seem to annoy people, especially with cats setting them off Grin

We live in a terraced house with no front garden. I always out a wreath on the front door and I have a hideous, tacky "kicking" neon reindeer from Homebase that I put in the front window but am the only one in the street who does this and I suspect that done neighbours disapprove. But I know that some look out for the reindeer to make them feel that Xmas has started

Just a wreath or something on the wall by the front door, a few decorations on a little conifer by the door, and a static lit snowflake in the kitchen window as it's at the front.

People in our close are quite restrained with their decs outside!

I'm tempted to get a wreath this year. I haven't decorated outside before because I've been worried the decorations would get stolen Grin

Last year was my first year as a lp since h moved out. My ds announced at the end of November that we wouldn't be able to have our outdoor lights as daddy wasn't here to do them. We usually have a string of icicle lights and an inflatable Santa! I told ds of course we could still have outside lights as mummy could do them too!! Our house ended up looking like Blackpool illuminations we had an inflatable Santa and Christmas tree, a reindeer and sleigh, a train, a star and all the lights I found at the back of the loft when I was getting them down that h had told me had stopped working!!! So in answer to your question yes we decorate outside it's it overly tasteful but worth it to see the look on h face when he came to see dc Wink

We haven't done this yet but only because I am at a loss as to how you power the lights. We don't have outside sockets and I bought some solar lights a couple of years ago but they were rubbish. Suggestions welcome please Grin

Usually some white dangling lights along the porch and some around the inside of the upper window with the tree and its lights in the bay window.
I wrap some battery powered lights around a wreath for the front door.

But like a pp, the dangly ones were battered in the winds last year and I can't remember if we bought new ones. Not sure I'll buy more for this year if we didn't.

We have a wreath on the door and a couple of sets of white solar fairy lights around the topiary type trees.

I fancy having a Christmassy hanging basket this year too...
