Does anyone have a Timbatree? I am seriously considering one this year

I am fed up of spending £50 on a tree every year and then throwing it away. I hate the mess but don't like fake trees. I saw a timbatree in Planet Organic today and loved it. I love the idea of reusing it every year. I love the wooden styling. But I would love to hear of anyone that has one and whether you like it?

Would it be a bit sad for little kids not to have a more traditional tree though?

timbaree gallery link. I like it. Quite a lot. Its sort of minimalist. I like the idea of having a branch for each family member.

I think the decoration would take some planning but theres no reason more holes couldn't be added so you could thread the lights through and suspend decorations etc.

We are not an adult household. Three boys aged 6, 10, and 13. Not sure what they would say. Haven't shown them yet.

We have a very eclectic set of decorations. We have a tradition of buying one each fur each child every year. Some are personalised. Some not. I don't see why you can't just hang the decorations over the branch with a long string or ribbon.

Why don't you buy a living, potted tree?

We have considered a potted tree before but were worried we would kill it! Spoke with the kids...they prefer the idea of a real tree but I am leaning to the timbatree. I think we may have come up with a compromise. Big timbatree then two small (inexpensive) potted trees - one each side. Then we cn experiment with keeping them alive during the year but if we fail, it won't cost too much.

We bought a potted tree and used it for three years before planting it outside when it needed too big a pot. And we kill anything green usually
I'm fighting a losing battle against getting a fake one this year :(

Oh, I love it! So clean, so fuss free. It would look great in my minimalist house - in my head Couldn't see a price, but would love to get one for our landing.

Oh I like it as a cake stand! Looks beautiful... Couldn't have it as the actual tree though but then, I'm a bit of a traditionalist like that. I can see your reasoning, for me it's real tree or nothing though. It's a bit bare for my liking. To each their own though!

I am a total minimalist. But you should see our tree normally. FULL of decorations. It would look nothing like the ones in the pictures once we were done with it

That is awful!! It's like those terribly earnest, worthy wooden kids toys that adults think are so tasteful, but kids think are crap.

I want a rustic branchy type tree this year, the sort that look good with natural hessian-ish type decs - anyone know of an online store for these? I don't have room for a real tree - and I want a break from tradition - new life, new style!

Ha, that cake stand! My dog would actually think it was Christmas - 'don't mind if I do' .The easter tree is pretty though. Christmas wise, it looks nice lit up, but a bit sad unlit.

I'm almost certain paperchase are selling these this year. Worth a look just to see it in real life. I like it but can't persuade the rest of the family.

i do agree with the waste aspect of a real one each year, yet when it comes to the day we always get one.

Real trees are not wasted, they get recycled and composted. I quite like the Timbatree look but would prolly end up with both!
