Has anyone got any ideas for board games for just two people? Its our first Christmas alone and I am trying to think of things we can do to make it just as fun as usual. Thank you

Is it for two adults? We've been playing Village - it takes a go or two to get it, but it's actually really interesting and great fun to play

I really love pentago - it's very nicely made and is a simple concept

Scrabble, or backgammon.

ds just g ot tetrizlink.. its quite good, esp if you like "old school" games. bit like connect 4 in the sence you have to make at least 3 links to score its a 2-4 player but can be played v well with just two.

Trivial pursuit. Tis a Christmas tradition in our house and there's just 2 of us

3D connect 4 is brilliant. Scrabble, chess, trivial pursuits.

I adore Othello. We also play Don't Panic which is hilarious after a few drinks.

Inspired by this thread I bought Ticket to Ride and had a go over the weekend. It was really good fun - quick to pick up, and just as satisfactory with two players as with five. Didn't really get as far as tactical or strategic Playing yet, but everybody really enjoyed it.

Just bumping this, has anyone played race for the galaxy?

Seems intriguing and a possible present for DH but quite expensive for what appears to be a card game.

DH and I play Trivial Pursuit a lot! We bought the 90s edition on holiday in the States in a thrift shop for 2 dollars. One of the pieces is a mini Kurt Cobain Grin Trouble is it's American, so most of the sport questions are lost on us (they'd be lost on me anyway).

I've always loved plain old Scrabble too. We have also played Dream Phone but perhaps the less said about that the better. Grin

Monolopy is fun with just two, as are Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble etc. I also really like the tabletop game Gloom, and the dice game Zombie Dice.

Othello, as other pp have said.

Do you play cards? Cribbage will keep you happy for years.
