does he like manly, dark, bitter, chunky marmalade with peel?

www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Frank-Coopers-Oxford-Vintage-Marmalade-/39852011?sku=39852011&dnr=y

or, sometimes available in a stoneware jar,
Keiller's Dundee marmalade

if he likes a savoury (very very thin) spread on buttered toast
not considered suitable for women and children

surpisingly, some of the best speciality chutneys are at aldi.

A stoneware jar of stilton might go down well

Oooh Queenofclean that's a lovely idea...that I'm going to steal Grin

Depending on budget: anything Hotel Chocolat for budget blowout (I recommend the salted caramel stuff!) or for budget bargain those £1.80ish box of seashell copy Guylain chocs from Lidl - they look more expensive than they are and are very moreish!

What everyone else said above (cheers!) plus maybe a joke/novelty item for shits and giggles Grin

Lindt chocolate if he likes is

Ritter bars if you can find them (German brand, also sold in Aldi)

Special mug possibly with PG tips.

A key ring with a mini LED torch attached

A special mug

Waitrose have a range of speciality local beers with a tankard (3 for 2 at the moment)

Small bottles of whisky... Normally £2-3, means you can get a couple of posh brands to try :)

My DD's will get socks and pj's etc so I won't put that in there.

Sounds good - will go with iron man.

Any other suggestions would be fab...any ideas for posh crackers as will get him some jarlsberg nearer the time as his fab cheese, will also get him some Brie.

I'll look in Aldi for speciality cranberry sauce - goes lovely with Brie.

He's not a book person and doesn't write much.

Any good nifty puzzles/mazes would be good, if anyone knows of any?
