It's DS1's birthday in Nov and then it's Christmas a month later and everyone is asking me 'What does X want?' and I haven't a bloody clue! I asked him and he's come up with a few lego playsets, but it's not enough for at least 7 people to buy him two lots of presents. So, any ideas? He's massively into dinosaurs, but has tons of them already - Schleich ones, Playmobil play sets, dino books, dino snap, colouring books, stickers, crockery, etc. Also like Cars movie, has got fed up of Toy Story stuff. He seems to be 'between' two different sorts of presents - he's outgrown the stuff for 3-4 year olds, but is too young for the 7+ stuff.

A scooter? Hexbugs? does he like Ben 10, Club penguin or Moshi monsters?

What about a LeapPad , Innotab, DS etc ?

Bike, scooter, basketball hoop?

Hexbugs seem to go down well.

Same here. We're thinking about a bike for birthday but stuck for Christmas.

Imaginext sets here

Very solid, they do some dino sets if you want more in the house!

Thanks! What do hex bugs do exactly? Do they just trundle around the floor? I'm a bit worried they look fragile - I also have a very destructive 16-month-old so fragile isn't good.

Ds1 (5.10) will be getting a Vtech Kidizoom camera as his main present. Plus smaller bits like Lego, Science Museum robot kit, Hexbugs and loads of books.

Games like Hungry Hippos/Pop Up Pirate, or Orchard games v popular here.

Or how about a magazine subscription - we've just got Beano for DS1.

Hex bugs are good fun.

Marble run?

Lego city advent calendar for birthday?

Flickr scooter has been a massive success with my nearly 5 yr old.

similar issues with dd2 here. she will be 7 in march but is quite young with it. massively into dino's also, but has loads. her dream present would be a duvet set in pink with dino's on (she is a real girly girl, loves pink and dinos) has a ds, cant ride a bike, has kiddizoom camera, has a scooter, no idea what main present to get for her (or dd1 to be honest)

Ds has just turned 5, and he is desperate for walkie talkies for Christmas. We will get him some really good ones and also a few other bits. He would really like an Omnitrix, anything to do with policemen, a new scooter as his recently broke, Schleich dragons and Playmobil boats.

Have a look at Letterbox www.letterbox.co.uk/?gclid=CJr67pfq0rICFYXJtAod4WcAOg
I was despairing - 6 year old DS same problem - but have lots of inspiration now ... It seems to have the less obvious things for kids like mine who aren't massively into any one thing

Ooooh I love those advent calendars! There are several different ones - knights, dinosaurs, etc.

Thanks for reminding about knights, castles, dragons, swords, pirates, etc. Lots of lovely ideas in there. That website is great too!
