Presents for preschool party

hi,

Can anyone help me out as I am stumped. I have to buy presents for all the children at the local preschool to receive at their Christmas party. I'm doing this on behalf of the committee but just have no ideas. We have £3 to spend per child. I can get book packs from the book people so each child can have a book (works out at a pound a child) but I have no idea what to spend the remaining £2 on. Last year we did a book and a torch for each child and it went down really well so something similar but different would be good.

Can anyone help me out with ideas please. All suggestions gratefully received!

would it be worthwhile suggesting that as you can source books at £1 each that this is what you spend?
Preschools seem to be notoriously short of money, and the extra £2 per child may be useful for something else next year.

We got those plastic animal little cups one year. They went down a treat

I appreciate your point totally but this is money which was fundraised specifically by the PTA to pay for an entertainer and presents for the party as is completely separate from the main preschool funds.
