Christmas

Am feeling a bit sad...

I've just been in the boiler cupboard and discovered it's been dripping onto my ds' playmobil advent calendar. His Santa sack was on top of it and is now completely mouldy as is the PM box, scene backdrop and all the little boxes inside.

I feel I'm being a bit dramatic but I am a little bit gutted Sad.

I can console myself a little by remembering that I've got myself him a Lego Star Wars one for this Christmas but it just won't be the same.

I'm off to eBay to look for a replacement...

Which is the PM one ? I would treat yourself to new one and use the Palmobil bits from the old one.

I have gleaned form the Playmobil thread that the newer ones dont have the boxes, so therefore arnt as re-usuable

PM = playmobil

It was the Carol singers in the town square.

I just asked ds if he's bothered about it having to go in the bin and he said no, not really Hmm Grin.

I've just looked on eBay and the used ones go for so much money...I wonder if I could make my own...I have Ds has lots of Christmas playmobil.

You can probably order the backdrop and boxes from the Playmobil spare parts service. Do you still have the instruction leaflet? If so, that will tell you what the part numbers are for those bits. You can then phone Playmobil customer services and order them. Won't be as expensive as buying a new set on eBay. Playmobil customer services number is 01268 490184.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I'm almost crying with joy!! Were all those item numbers on that website? I'll study it all properly later.

Yes, the website is called Playmodb, and is an unofficial site which lists all the current and previous Playmobil sets. It's very useful for finding out set numbers, or part numbers when you have lost the instruction sheet!

Hopefully you will be able to order the spare parts you need from the Playmobil customer services. Smile

This is the complete inventory for that set, so if you have any other pieces missing/damaged you could order those as well.

Personally, I would make a backdrop scene - then it will be unique! And as for boxes - get or make a pocket advent calendar (you can buy some nice ones if you can't make one) or get a set of those mini wooden chests (Moppe) from ikea
and paint or decoupage numbers the outsides. Put the playmobil in the drawers and hey presto your own unique advent calendar. Can be reused and become a family tradition.
Or make a set of mini bags or stockings and peg them onto a string with mini pegs across the mantelpiece.

Thanks Norman, I phoned and the lady advised I email them so have just done that. Fingers are crossed that they can help.

Pengymum - I am so uncreative that anything I attempted to make myself would look awful! I do have an advent calendar with drawers so had briefly considered using it to put the PM in. One of the children I look after asked me a couple of weeks ago if we'd be having the PM calendar again. He had a look of pure delight when I said yes even though he's a big tough 9 year old. I just don't think it'd be the same without all the little boxes.

I'd cross my fingers for you, but I don't have any (being a Playmobil chap)! Grin

no probs - just mentioned in case you fancied having a go! Sometimes is wisest to stick with what you know.
Will cross my fingers for you! [hgrin]

Sad They don't have the parts anymore.

I'm watching another calendar on eBay but it's already up to £5.50 and still has a couple of days left.

I might end up having to make my own afterall!
