Feeling a bit stuck about what to get my mum for Christmas. She is 77, problems with vision. In the past I have bought her audio books, a nespresso coffee machine (but she has never bothered to order the capsules for it, and as an aside she thanked my brother for it in front of me, as altho he had not contributed to the purchase at all, he had also thought about buying her one, but me buying one had prevented him buying one!HmmI did say he could contribute towards the one I bought or buy some coffee for it, but he never did!

Anyway last year, she suggested some things which I then purchased, BUT she has since complained to me about them! I.e The Rob Brydon dvd was too rude, likewise an audio book that she had asked me for had too much swearing in it!

I don't want to waste money, but am a bit stuck!

Thank you merrycompo, but she is diabetic and doesn't drink alcohol. Should have said that!

I used to get "the friendship book of francis gay" for christmas when I was a child!!!Late seventies/ early eighties! Grin Not sure if she would be able to read it now though as she needs large print. It's a good idea though.

How about a basket of bulbs? You could do your own or buy one.

Cashmere socks or scarf?

Slippers? John Lewis had some nice ones online.

Hand cream or bubble bath if she likes to bathe. Maybe from Clarins or some other similar company

Could you get her a voucher for a manicure, pedicure or facial?

Forgot to mention my failsafe gift of an up to date framed photo of the family. Include the beloved son and family for extra brownie points!
