I was buying some new tree decorations yesterday (because I am the DCs are very excited about putting the tree up on Saturday Grin

Anyway... from what I've seen no-one puts tinsel on their tree anymore. I've always done tinsel, am I embarassingly retro and dated?

Yes. You either embrace it or reject it.

How can I ever show my face in public again? Shock

Oh dear. Now I face a dilemma: Be shamelessly tat-tastic or do a test run without the tinsel and see if it leaves me feeling empty and cold inside...

Tinsel adds a depth to the tree that nothing else does. I use thinnish silver tinsel, wrapped around the inner branches and trunk, nothing matches its sparkliness. Lametta is lame, and besides which the cat would choke on it. Not keen on beads. But each to their own and all that. If you like it, sod everyone else, use it.

Phew, thanks you lot Grin

I too have great memories of draping it over, well, everything really!
