Beginner Audio Transcription jobs?

Hi, I'm looking for anyone that can recommend a good company/agency where I can try out some audio transcription work please. I could probably manage 6 hours a week at the moment until my youngest increases her pre-school hours. Then I might do some admin work alongside this for my husbands company, or look into virtual pa work once I've got the confidence to throw myself into something new.

I want to start this gradually so need to be able to take on just one bit of work a week to start with, without any pressure. I'm a bit nervous about finding this sort of work with being recommended an agency/site incase it's a scam!

That’s news to me! No idea if we’re changing software or not.

I heard Winscribe is closing down - do you know what platform they have chosen to use instead?

It depends on the software used. My team use one called Winscribe, which is a few button clicks and it forms the template for you, so that the typist only has to then type the letter exactly as they hear it with a small
amount of formatting at the end to make sure the letter is laid out appropriately with headers for diagnosis or medication for example.

It’s still worth asking and if you don’t fancy it then it’s not a problem. Bank work for the NHS is exactly as it sounds, effectively agency work at your discretion.

Get in touch with your local hospital and see if they have NHS bank work for typists. I have three bank typists on my team that we send work to as and when we need.

I used to do this with Alder Hey but they went to full voice recognition. Glad it wasn't across all NHS sites.

Great, thank you! I was thinking of starting out as an audio transcriber so that I could literally just type out what I hear. Bit worried about signing up for nhs type work that I would end up having to write out letter templates... Which I could progress onto, but I would need to sharpen up on a few skills for this more formal work I think. Unless they provide that format, which would be great! I'll look into it, thanks again

I found them on Upwork when I was getting extra cash as a VA. Had to find a transcriber and loads had set themselves up on there.
