Hi all,
Hoping for some sage advice! I've wanted to run a pre-school craft club for the longest time but never quite had the confidence. I'm not short of craft ideas, the eldest kids joke our house makes Hobbycraft look badly stocked 😂 but I am very much at the start of the research stage. Are there any mumnetters out there who have successfully started something similar who would be able to give me any tips around market research, venue finding and session planning and session length? Or any mums that use craft clubs - what do you and your DCs like/dislike? I'd really appreciate any advice :)

I posted something similar a few months back.
You just need to make sure you have checks done on yourself and other staff.
Perhaps the venue should have insurance in case of falls.
On the other hand with all the awareness of plastic, glitter etc (a lot of craft is not recyclable) from Blue Planet 2 etc., I'd see if there was an alternative natural way of crafting.

Make sure they make somthing useful always helps and either one day courses or say 6 weeks where they have to come back each week to finish means your guaranteed 6 weeks of children

That's a really good idea Babba. Are you running sessions now?

That's a good idea Pickledonion I'd thought of half termly themes but not a larger project, definitely something to think about :)

I would do something in collaboration with schools. After school clubs are very popular to help with childcare and you would already have a ready made venue.
