How do i move on

Hi,

I've nc for this one and probably my next few posts.

I've finally had my final stage grievance meeting with my employer, and it was a farce, they have admitted that they did not communicate with me whilst i was on maternity leave.

My solicitor had written to them requesting a without prejudice settlement. They have come back with an offer which is basically ridiculous.

My solicitor will respond with another offer.

In the meantime, i have just been signed off for another 4 weeks but my GP seemed very reluctant. I have 52 weeks sick pay with my company. I can understand his reluctance completely

So what can i do if this sick note runs out and we haven't reached a settlement? The thought of going into work makes me feel physically sick.

I'm starting to panic. My solicitor is conscious of the timescales.

Can anyone offer any advice/experience?

X

Oh I see what you mean. Yes probably panicking prematurely, it will probably all be resolved much sooner than that so I wouldn't worry just yet.

Thanks Flowery,

No i haven't been off for a year, i've been off for 4 1/2 months. My contract states i have 52 weeks paid sick leave a year.

I'm hoping the negotiations don't take 4 weeks, i'm panicking prematurely i suspect.

You've been off sick for a year? If your GP is reluctant do you mean he thinks you are fit for work?

If you are at negotiation stage it's unlikely to take a further 4 weeks to sort out an agreement anyway, but you'll need to bear in mind how much you don't want to go back when negotiating.
