Hi, I am armed and dangerous with the literal violence of purple, white and green ribbons. My plan is to attach meaningful quotes or phrases on laminated pieces of paper but I'm not sure what to write for the best impact and communication of Women’s rights. Please could you give me some ideas other than the dictionary definition of woman. Ideal places to put them too. Public loos? Park bench? Sea wall railings? End of the pier might be a good one. On the train somewhere?
My stickers are so far still where I've left them and we are on a day trip to a different area tomorrow so I'm going to make the most of it with some activism.

Two of my ribbons are still in situ several weeks later. I've added more today on my travels 💚🤍💜

Snoopy, I love it! And you're right: if someone is taking them down then people are certainly seeing them. I've certainly become just so much more aware of street art and messages and stickers now I'm looking for spaces. Reminds me of Mine sign

I know two sets are TRAs because these charming BogOff stickers appeared. Which I left up, because a) free speech and b) well, it says it all, doesn't it? Open debate. I'm almost tempted to get some myself to present both sides of the argument, as if anything I think it strengthens the case.

Today, motivated by this thread, I took a sharpie and wrote next to my stickers: Trans activists remove these stickers to silence non-consenting women.

These are mine, back and front. I'm placing in parks where mums are visiting with kids. Just ordered some more ribbon from link above to place in the wild.

I love seeing the ribbons fluttering in the breeze and tomorrow is due to be a wet staying in day that seems perfect for making more. We are planning a few day trips and need to be ready. Will also place some locally along the canal, in the woods etc. Ribbon is much cheaper than stickers although easier to remove. Must remember to take my trusty Sharpie with me too.

I love that idea, Snoopy - it's more than fair if for every, say, five bits of litter you get to sticker once... Grin

Most of my stickers only last a few days.

I was a bit annoyed when I realised the first ones had gone so quickly, but I'm trying to look at it as though somebody is seeing them before they disappear, even if only the people taking them back down. And in that case I've reached at least one of the following people:

A - anyone who has seen them and left them alone - and perhaps is discovering the issue for the first time or finding solidarity because they are aware of it.

B - Cleaning staff / workers taking them down because they have to - again perhaps discovering the issue or finding solidarity.

C - Woke TRAs removing them - in which case I hope any satisfaction they get from removing them is perhaps tinted by the fact that the stickers prove there are women out there fighting hard to keep their sex based rights and legally protected GC views every step of the way - and We Won't Wheesht!

For the person on this thread concerned about littering - I've found that litter picking is also a great opportunity for stickering - good for the environment and spreading an important message at the same time.

I'm so encouraged by you lot. I've been stickering and am now locked in sticker war with someone who is daily scraping down my Demand Women's Only Spaces stickers. I've got a few in high footfall areas (urban jungle warrior me). Becoming quite good at insouciant flyby stickering (possibly just in my mind)

I've just walked past a set of ribbons I did on the 17th July. Still there!

Ribbon has gone off the dam but the one in the loo is still there. 2 out of 5 isn't too bad I guess.

@Pellewsmate. Tbh - the people here aren’t very aware of these issues. I’ve talked to my mp about it and she had no idea. My male labour representative said ‘ ohhhh….. I really don’t know or get involved with women’s issues’.
Confused A GAY MAN ffs Angry

I suppose I am a bit bold but I’m not out professionally and I get very nervous when my 17 year old is out with her hateful haberdashery and always tell her to be very careful and not be seen.

I also take down my birdy rose prints when the young females friends visit. Sad
Dd goes to a stonewall school….. though I have sent her headmaster a copy of Helen Joyce’s book through Sex Matters.

We just all do what we can, in solidarity.

@IheartJKR
I really admire your courage in being so open about what you are doing.
When I bought the ribbon I was nervous crossing the carpark in case anyone drew the correct assumptions about the green, purple and white ribbons.

I’ve put stickers and ribbon outside my house and also tied ribbon around the bay trees in my garden and have had lots of interest from neighbours who’ve stopped to chat and ask. Two neighbours have shown interest so I’ve made them both zip lock bags with a selection of stickers and ribbon as they’ve decided to join the movement 💪 and spread the word.

I bought my ribbon from the range.

Pellewsmate, I hope someone has taken the ribbons to display them somewhere more prominent.

The ribbons I placed at work are still there. I think my town would appreciate some little ribboned yarn bombs. The rainbows - thank-the-NHS rainbows from the first lockdown - are looking a little tired now.

I'm planning on replacing them this afternoon, if they disappear again I'll resort to paint. I doubt many will feel like taking a 12 foot gate.

I’m sorry someone is removing your ribbons, Pellewsmate.

But reading that message prompted me to use the very useful links above to order 50m of each colour. You are still spreading the word and creating interest despite the ribbon thief’s efforts!

I'm livid, my ribbons were up for 2 days before "disappearing". They were tied to my field gate adjacent to a public footpath. Someone had to cross my private property (2m) and stole my personal belongings, is this a crime that the police would be interested in or would they be glad that a perceived threat (noose) has been removed?

I think it is really important to include a pointer to a website so that anyone who doesn't know what this is all about can get more (sensible) information - I always state something along the lines of "More info on the FairPlayforWomen.com" website.
