Imse Vimse make organic cotton liners (and pads) which are nice and comfy. I haven't noticed any talk of womxn or "people." They are a Swedish brand.

If they really believed TMAM. they could simply say women and men who menstruate. Simples. I think the fact that even the most 'enlightened' companies dance around not quite saying it is illuminating.

I checked my lil-ets today. Made by Women for Women is their tag line on the box.

My university recently invited early career researchers to a meeting if they were womxn or all women including femmes....I don't even know what femme means in this context. I only recognise it in the context of butch and femme, but that seems a bit dated and anyway why weren't the butch women invited?!

Not just for women. It’s for people too!

Reminds me of that old ad for a tinned food that was called something like ‘cats and kids’ (it’s very old - maybe been a spoof). It’s for cats and kids! (Which is actually a genius idea).

@TeaAndStrumpets

"Women AND people" what the fuck does that mean?

Women aren’t actually people? So the product is for people but also for women?

Well I guess the holy grail of any business development dept is to find a new market for existing products.

I wish they'd say women and Transmen.

They clearly can't say men as that's ultra confusing and more women would be pissed off.

But women and people is a tautology grammatically speaking.

@TeaAndStrumpets

"Women AND people" what the fuck does that mean?

It’s weird because it doesn’t even make sense from their logic. As presumably someone who phrases it like that doesn’t believe female biology is connected to being a woman if they also think people can menstrate regardless of whether they’re a man or a woman.

I recently read a bbc piece where Jess Philips used the phrase “woman and people with a cervix” in talking about HPV. It’s just weird.

If womxn is supposed to be inclusive of trans women, I really don't understand the point of them being included in a product to manage periods.

Though darker parts of the Internet might answer that one.

“Our mission is to bring womxn in the know about all things vulva”

Is it just me or does this not make sense, grammatically? Surely it should be “bring womxn in to the know.
Currently it reads like they want to bring womxn who are currently in the know about all things vulva… somewhere but the end of the sentence is missing.

Glad I've found this website; they've the full range and also do a free samples mixture. I used them for years before period pants, mainly the tampons and the really thin liners.

Now I've started swimming again there's no excuse!

Now that Modibodi have also been taken over I don’t want to have to make my own reusables out of rags or something

Oh ffs. Sainsbury's it is then.

That's a shame, I've had some Yoni from Sainsbury's before and didn't remember the womxn thing.

I think amazon have been given a different spin, the website doesn't use womxn.

It avoids the word woman as much as it can.

I found one on the all about page:

We believe all women and people should know what their most intimate products are made from. That's why we list our ingredients on the pack. This sounds normal, but unfortunately it's not the standard. By leading the way at Yoni, we hope other companies will follow suit.

With the above, surely it's actually better to call a transman a transman?!

That's the only word woman I can find on the website. People appears at least twice.

I did find this though Sainsbury’s has even announced to aim for “plastic free periods” by 2020 so it may be worth looking at what every brands they sell?

I used to get the attached in boots but they stopped stocking them. This website likes women. They seem to be an Australian brand.

I now use modibondi period pants but have been told Sainburies period pants are also great. (I don't work for Sainburies Grin) it sounds like they may have made a decision in that area hence good stock.

I use reusable pads. Cheeky wipes. I must check, but the ones I have say “cheeky mama” on them. Obviously you don’t have to be a mama to use them. Or cheeky...

Not sure about that, I've been hearing people talk about shark week since I was a teen. It's just like saying Aunt Flo, time of the month, on the rag, the painters are in etc.

Surfing the crimson tide? This euphemism was popular at my secondary school.

Who runs these companies? I wonder why they can't just sell their products without making a political statement. It's obvious there's no or very few women on their board of directors if the makers of sanitary products don't want to mention women in their advertising. So for all this bleating about equality they don't actually practice what they preach.
