Transgender awareness week apaz. Do they light up for every awareness day?
It's a bank - not even a high street bank wowing customers - a devolved govt dept Confused

Melvyn looks like he likes muddy puddles, will I need to wear wellies to go marching with him?

Oh I don't know it's, effectively, part of the same thing isn't it? Given that human beings can't change sex no matter what they say?

It’s also International Fraud Awareness week, which you might think would be more relevant for a financial institution than pretty pink lights Hmm

Melvyn is cute. Does he sell t shirts?

I thought they'd already had Trans Awareness Week or was that something else. Anyway I could get behind Melvyn Awareness Week, he's definitely brightened my day and he looks like a very good boy indeed

Those lights are so stunning and brave.

Guess equal pay day wasn't important enough as it only directly negatively affects half of the population.

They should have interspersed the blue and pink with white lights. I hope they bear that in mind when they do a violet, white and green one .... oh bugger, they missed Equal Pay Day on Nov 14th, didn't they? Surely that's an event more relevant to a bank - the disparity in remuneration caused by structural sexism and discrimination against women.

The middle just looks like a lilac block of colour, and the ends are dark blue. I wouldn't have recognised that as the transgender flag at all. What shoddy virtue signalling.

Surely Stonewall could have slipped some of their £££ to their champions to buy some decent lights.

When I looked at the twitter last night the word 'elite' was cropping up a fair bit.

Awareness that trans activism has influential moneyed friends ...

Hilarious. Wonder how the anticapitalist anarchist section of transactivism are spinning this? Grin

It was on the Google page yesterday and unfortunately my first thought was argh, can't we have a week OFF.... that would be a much rarer thing.

There's such obliviousness to the fact that when things are rammed down people's throats and up their noses relentlessly all the time people shift from neutral where awareness raising may help to exasperatedly fed up with it all and switching off at the sight of it. There's no understanding of how people work at all.

Is transgender awareness week why Fisherpeople came out on BBC this morning?

So oppressed and marginalised.

Nice if the young bluehairs feel supported. However, I suspect this more about all the Pips Bunce types in the city.

As a Bank surely they know above all else to follow the money 💰

It's really great to see the replies though. People are waking up and catching on.

Mad Cat Lady Awareness Week?

Report
ErrolTheDragon · 17/11/2020 00:48

Yes, they'd better be doing something for the other Awareness's of this week (well, the U.K. ones at least).
