Murder stats in the USA

What stands out obviously is the figure for prostitutes. UK news (quite rightly) covers the terrible tragedies of school shootings and violence among/against black males in the USA. I don't recall a news item covering this horrendous pattern though. Is it because it is one murder at a time or a low value placed on their lives? (Been reading the Huddersfield thread.)

None about tackling the risk other ways.

It seems bound up in pro-prostitution "sex worker rights" arguments, from my quick google. Complaining about closing down Backpage etc.

Ease of access without having to build trust I guess. Is there an outcry or a sweeping under the carpet in the US is my question?

It's clear that most victims of homicide who are prostitutes are female. Those rates are shocking. So the rate of this subgroup of women is sky high.

Case not base

I think it's a combination of low value placed on their lives, misogyny (or homophobia in the base of MTFs) and ease to access to victims.
