The comments on both the telegraph and guardian articles are frightening, though

This was satire. I'm presuming he's not. Maybe he wants to set up his own little Stepford. Not that he has haduch success in persuading a wife to be a bit more Stepford. No doubt that's our fault as feminists.

Not surprised to learn he is/was a Tory.

I'd not seen the phrase before, so "pain in the arts" made me smile. Am easily pleased.

Nice tongue-in-cheek comment piece in the Telegraph today about Mike Buchanan. Illustrates the absurdity of his position very well.

Warning: unfortunately it carries a picture of him…..

Yeah. I'm not surprised. He has the very cut of it.

I was pleasantly surprised to read some of the comments: "Oh no! A woman might actually be considered my equal! Help, help! I'm being oppressed!" made me giggle (in a girly vacuous way, obviously).

Buchanan is a stalker btw. He stalked glosswitch for months and months.

I must admit, I do hate men like him.

I know his personal appearance has nothing to do with it, but it gives me the creeps. He has that weird grooming that those US telly evangelists (and Jeffrey Dahlmer) have.

"All women have a right to complain, but do feminists abuse the privilege? "

I don't use this often but ROFL. If the thinks that is privilege no wonder his ideas are a little 'erm "off kilter"

That lps publishing site is a treat.

"Feminism: The Ugly Truth seeks to answer over 50 of the most challenging questions of the modern era, as reflected in a random selection of 10 chapter titles:

Are you a misogynist if you only hate feminists?
How do feminists shorten the lives of many men and women?
Are feminists less intelligent than normal women?
Are feminists less attractive than normal women?
Are some feminists (e.g. Tracey Emin) a pain in the arts?
Were the suffragettes silly?
Do feminists suffer from PPS (Permanent Premenstrual Syndrome)?
All women have a right to complain, but do feminists abuse the privilege?
Feminist theory: have the ladies been building castles in the air?
Are feminists delusional? Is the pope a Catholic? Do bears crap in woods?"

"Ladies" what do we think? Those silly little suffragettes! Is Tracy Emin an artist or a killer? Are we ugly, unintelligent and premenstrual? YOU decide!

Sorry, it's obviously a highly academic and intelligent piece of writing going by the above synopsis. Maybe it just all goes above my pretty little head? Or my scary vampirish head? Grin

Wtf is that book cover?! He really really hates women doesn't he? Has it been self-published? I can't imagine anyone who wanted to be taken seriously agreeing to that picture being used.

The poor little boy. Obviously those evil female teachers who always give boys lower marks ignored him so much they forgot to tell him about proper nouns. It's obvious he does not realise names need capital letters.

An anti feminist political party!

He does not deserve the attention he is getting. The manifesto is illogical, extremist and intellectually dishonest. Bingo! Lots of media, because TV in particular thrives on the extremes, and on controversy. When actually, what he says only serves to hamper real debate and understanding and is a bizarre position held by a very small minority.

Well, maybe a little bit funny.

But scary, uncomfortable funny.

My first reaction to that was 'ha ha, what a fool' and then it actually made me feel quite upset that a man who doesn't know me hates me enough to form a political party in order to try to suppress my freedom. I find it quite chilling and not funny at all.
