To not responsd to MRAs or the like? They really want us to engage while they don't listen and as said earlier (by runninginheels, us think ) we should probably not be giving them the attention they are craving

I find it difficult to stay out of threads with MRAs as others will be engaging so you feel as though you need to to keep up. If all if us just say at the time, I'm not going to give this person the time of day it might make it easier for all of us, to talk around the person and hopefully they'll get bored and go away.

(and yes, this is a silencing tactic)

like the special topic that was set up for radfem,as we'd heard it all before?
that proved unpopular and folks felt mn was ostracising them
mn is an open forum.if you want your fem discussions highly moderated then you'll find that elsewhere

Could MN not set up a special topic for MRA's, then these post ca be moved there away from general chat and stand as testimony to new MRA posters that we have heard it all before?

I won't be told to fall in line,or whom to engage with.the point is to express an opinion
I'm bemused a feminist encouraging other women to not be vocal.feels intuitively wrong
and in past mn fem topics have had bullying culture of freezing posters out,or encouraging not to talk to those whose opinion unpopular.that was v wrong and caused a lot if issues

absolutely not.i refuse to be silenced or told whom to engage with
you can exercise your preference, and I will exercise mine to engage as i wish
it's a hard fought battle to be heard without purposefully withdrawing.just because

If you don't think men's right are an issue, ask a divorced father.

And no, I'm not divorced, or a father. Or indeed an "MRA". And the existence of them does not detract from the vital work being done for Women's rights, they're not mutually exclusive.

It makes my head hurt just reading it (yeah, I know I shouldn't).

Let's hope he doesn't pop up somewhere here. Will sit on my hands this time as that was completely pointless in the end.

Maybe we should set Hully on him next time though.

Well, wouldn't you know it? It was all about him not wanting to pay maintenance in the end.

What a twat.

I'd go for setting hully on them.

I thought from the title this was something to do with not getting engaged to be married. Blush

I have mixed feelings about the one in Politics. I haven't posted on it because I've only had time for a quick lurk for a few weeks now but I think it comes under the 'give 'em enough rope' category. I think I feel differently because it's not on FWR as well. That's not to say there aren't some really offensive views on that thread though. Flowers for Nicholas and anyone else who's been upset by them.

The annoying little shit who keeps re-registering and getting banned again in this section has been putting me off reading and posting here for a while though, he seems only to want to shut down debate and ruin as many threads as he can until the ban hammer inevitably falls. Pleased to see MNHQ have been very quick to delete this evening, they must be as mightily sick of him as the rest of us.

On balance, signed.

If it quacks like a duck it's a duck. They don't have to self identify as a MRA to be completely blindingly obvious as one.

How do you definitively know a poster is an MRA and not just someone with a different perspective? What's the definition?

I think there should be an early warning system, like the < klaxon> the pus weirdos have. Then hully can shoot them.

Can't shoot them - apparently women don't want the dirty or dangerous jobs. Was kind of hoping that that particular one we could bore to death but must admit to being intrigued to see if seeker wins the prize at the end of phase 3

or dig a huge hole at the gate to this section?

then we can fill the hole with shit we've collected from AIBU?
