"Early 2024" is all we seem to know at the moment. So, by Easter? Maybe?

Expect it to be known as Zepbound. Most of the online pharmacies currently offering Wegovy seem to be geared up for the drug, with "coming soon" on their websites.

This from Habitual website: "In early November 2023, the MHRA (the UK regulator for drug approval) authorised the use of tirzepatide for weight management and weight loss, to be administered alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased exercise regime. While previously known under the name Mounjaro, a medication for type 2 diabetes, pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly announced Zepbound will be the name for the weight loss equivalent.
It depends from medication to medication, but it is usually expected for a drug to take around three months from approval. So on that timeline, we can expect Zepbound to be available in the UK early in 2024."

I wonder what dosages this will be available in. I’m currently on the highest dose of Wegovy but it is becoming increasingly ineffective. I started on Ozempic in January 2023 and have lost more than three stone but am now stalling. The medication is keeping me from gaining weight but I need to lose more as I still have a BM1 of 31.

I had an email from somewhere (SecondNature?) which said they're looking to start their Mounjaro/Zepbound programme in February. So maybe very soon?

Wow! Thanks for this. Those dosages seem huge - I wonder what the equivalent of the highest dose of Wegovy is?

There are some guides on the web, but seem to be deliberately vague. They basically say speak to your prescriber who will decide. Also, you may have to start from the lowest dose and move up. I guess because, although you have GLP-1 in both medications, you would be new to the GIP in Mounjaro.

I think Boots are going to be selling it

I switched from Wegovy to Mounjaro pretty much straight after it launched. I'm on the 5mg dose atm and it seems to be working quite well. Im going on holiday start of April (all inclusive) for 2 weeks and hopefully Mounjaro continues to work its magic.

Wanted to move onto the 7.5mg but it doesn't seem to be available yet. Does anyone know of any place thats started selling it yet? I got my original supply from Bolt and they are saying it wont be available until April which will be too late for me... might have to order another 5mg but just hope it doesn't start wearing off.

I’m on my second week of 2.5 and lost 6lb so far plus a complete change of diet. I got mine from voy but I’ve found it cheaper since then from asda so ordered 5 mg from them.

How much does it cost without the discount? I looked on a website but had to start filling out eligibility forms before I could see a price.

I’ve been reading your messages across mumsnet today on moujaro amongst other weight loss injections.

ive placed my order for the first pen and i am awaiting approval. I’m current 17.3 stone after losing 6 stone 2 years ago doing keto. Did so well then had 18 months of hell and here I am back on the increasing weight train and I need a bolster to get me going back in the other direction. No idea if I will be approved, I’ve ordered it and sent my photos (Asda ) fingers and toes crossed

I have a 50% off code for Mounjaro through Voy. Great if you want to give it a go and then you can pass on the code to someone else and get 50% off next

Asda online were quite quick with there response after pic was taken, I use them for my 5mg. Voy is the most expensive I’ve seen so far at £229, first pen £149 then more expensive than others. I’ve lost 11lb in 3 weeks with low calorie diet too

I bought with Voy, no problems at all. My next lot I bought with med express though as it is cheaper.

I’m on week 3 and although I’m eating a lot less, and I feel my clothes fit better, the scales aren’t showing me anything. I did lose initially, like half a stone, but nothing the last week. Maybe I’m expecting too much.

How much is it via med express and Asda?

Report
CormorantStrikesBack · 16/04/2024 07:14

Found prices, looks like med express is the cheapest at £149 and Asda are £185. Not sure if the med express is discounted for the first month. Superdrug are selling it as well but £215
