Bigger than my husband

I've been meaning to lose weight for the last 15 years, but somehow it hasn't happened, and I've gained 3st instead.

But now it has to happen. I'm heavier than my 6ft husband, and I'm only 5'5. And he knows. My stupid eufy Bluetooth scale connected to his phone instead of mine, putting my weight into his history, which caused him to be confused about how he'd gained 1.5kg overnight. So I had to own up, and say that was actually my weight.

And now I've firmly had the kick up the backside I need to sort my shit out, anyone got any similar stories to make me feel better about myself?

Hi @Midgetwithaplan I don’t have any stories like that, DH and I are open about our weights. Now it’s in the open so to speak, would your DH work with you to make some lifestyle tweaks? Less junk food and takeaways and maybe go for some walks together or do some sort of exercise together?

I currently weigh more than my husband who is almost a foot taller than me. He's underweight and I'm at the cusp of overweight for my height. I don't know what to say! I find it unpleasant. He has health issues that also affect our relationship and the stress seems to make me put on weight - and he stays thin. I would say if your relationship is healthy otherwise I wouldn't worry about it though! I find doing some version of low carb and intermittent fasting helps lose weight, but I can't handle that right now!

My husband never knew my exact weight, but I've always been heavier than him, or at least I have for many years. One of the few good things I can say about him is that he never cared, he always told me I was beautiful, and it never affected his physical attraction to me.

It always made me feel uncomfortable, though. Conspicuous, I guess. Like a woman should be smaller than her husband. I know that's not right thinking, but that's how I felt. I get you.

I weigh nearly the same as my husband, I'm 5'1 and he's 6'3. He's a very healthy weight and unfortunately I'm classed as being obese. I'm currently pregnant with DC4 so that's going to increase, but hopefully not too much.

I think this hopefully opens up a conversations whereby you can maybe set some health goals together? Also my husband isn't overly bothered about my weight and just appreciates that I've grown him 3 DC and tbh that's the cause for most of my gain.

Please don't be embarrassed just because he knows how much you weigh!

My husband is over a foot taller than me and I'm heavier than him too. I'm so ashamed. I cleared out some clothes the other day and can't believe how big I've got compared to 7 or 8 years ago. We both used to be thin now I'm fat and he is thinner than ever!

I've always been heavier than my husband, even at my slimmest. When I was pregnant I was 5 stone heavier than him. We're the same height, he's just naturally slim.

It's never going to change so I've just accepted it now.
