I managed to again 4 stone whilst pregnant by happily eating anything I could lay my hands on BlushMy baby is now 8 weeks old and I need to start to lose some of it (rather than gaining more with late night chocolate eating 🤦‍♀️)

There’s about 6 weeks left of 2020 and I’d love to be a step closer to fitting in my clothes by the end of it.

If you would like to lose weight and can't do it alone, join me to make this all a little easier (and keep me in line!) I don’t know what I weigh exactly but I will check and post tomorrow morning.

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I’m trying the Joe Wicks 30 day kick start plan. Because I am old and because I have a damaged ankle I’m trying to do the seniors workouts, and also follow the guide for food. That book has some great recipes in it. I’m walking the dog daily and trying to get 10000 steps in. I used to run before I did my ankle, and unfortunately I’ve just carried on eating as if I’m still burning up the food with exercise. I made the second Christmas cake today and instead of stuffing myself on the cake mixture I had Joe’s face watching me from the worktop, so that’s a result.Facing up to the scales was grim, but it had to be done!

@chrispenrallt1

Welcome. You have taken the first step. I didn't weigh myself for about three years before I started to lose weight again. I was avoiding the truth. So facing it is a brilliant first step. What do you plan to do next?

I've just finished a bulk cooking session today. Six hours of cooking Bolognese, chilli, beef hash, dirty rice and pork meatballs in a roasted veggie sauce. I usually do soup too, but I'm poorly right now, and I was knackered.

Of course! Welcome :) how much are you looking to lose? It's so tough isn't it? I'm forever saying I'm going to eat better/ lose weight. I'm trying to stop talking about it and just do it!

Hi can I join you
Finally got on the scales today and faced up to big weight gain. I can’t run any more as I have injured my ankle very badly, no longer wearing a boot but no way I can run at this weight, if ever. Looking at the JOE WICKS book right now, some great recipes in there. Hoping for some encouragement as if I mention it to o h he just puts a downer on it.To be fair he has heard it all before, but I have done it before, so I’m giving it another go.

Wow! That's fantastic Kakiweewee you must be happy with that.

I'm going to do another week of just curbing the snacks then will start to improve my meals in general. I get very hungry but I think some of that could be thirst due to breastfeeding- will try to drink even more and see if that helps.

@EauDeMilk that's fantastic, well done you!

I'm officially weighed in today and my loss stands at 75lbs. 4lbs this week. I'm so happy that things are finally shifting again.

@EauDeMilk I really hope you get your loss this week.

This weekend is batch cooking weekend. So I've got Spag Bol, Chilli, Minced Beef Hash, Pork Meatballs and Pasta Sauce, Pork Dirty Rice, and two big pots of Lentil and Bacon Soup to make for the freezers at mine and mum's house. It's usually an exhausting weekend!

Hi Kaki, you're doing well Smile
I've definitely done better so far this week. Meals wise I've not really changed anything yet but I have not had any chocolate/ biscuits etc. once that snacking is more under control the other stuff won't seem so difficult- I hope!
Will weigh myself at the weekend - hoping for a pound off 🤞

Hey all. How's your week going?

I've lost another 2lbs which takes me to 200lb exactly. That's 73lbs lost. Really happy with the movement in weight loss finally. Eight weeks of being static was really demotivating.

Yes! I don't generally put weight on at Christmas- we eat more, but skip meals too, and don't eat a lot of extras- I don't like fruit cake or mince pies. It's more that there's more variety of food, and a few treats like pfefferkuche!

Kakiweewee · 22/11/2020 19:08

@picklemewalnuts

It's a bit frustrating as all the calculators have me at about 1400 calories per day to lose weight even on a sedentary lifestyle. I might keep up the limited eating until just before Christmas to see if my body just needed a change of pace for a while?

At Christmas I am allowing myself some treats though. I want Stollen and a decent roast dinner with wine in my gravy and pigs in blankets.

That's amazing Kaki! Losing weight when feeling like crap.

It's rubbish though, to have to live on so a few calories.

I'm alive!

What a crap week. Why couldn't my appetite have gone with the cold huh? Still I managed to stick to the very cut back meal plan in an attempt to shift the weight. No exercise because I'm not running when I can't breathe properly to start with.

Weighed in and I'm 14st 6lbs, so I've shifted 2lbs off this week. That's a total of 71lbs off which means the five stone is now secure with an extra pound off. Phew.

I think I've had to come below 1200 calories to shift some weight, so I'll have another cut back week and see if that maybe just kick starts the loss long term, or if that's just how it is now.

I'm sorry y'all have had rubbish weeks, every day is a new one though. It's taken me nine months to shift five stone, so I am expecting the other five to take twice as long, hitting the right time with the right circumstances took me a long time.

Glad you got back on track pickle. I really haven't done well this week, if anything, I've gained weight. However, tomorrow is Monday (!) and I will begin again. I have walked a lot this week at least.
I've also slept a bit more than the previous weeks so am feeling more motivated now. We can do this! The Christmas food is hard to see- especially the mini butter stollen in lidl...

GP prescription. It's twice as strong as over the counter, apparently.

I have accidentally eaten a fattier than usual meal today so I'm a bit worried! Blush it was left overs and I'd eaten a lot of it before I realised!

I was a bit despondent to be honest, having been to Lidl and seen all the Christmas food I won't be eating this year!

I've just started orlistat. So will see what that does
Was that by GP prescription of bought over the counter?
I’m thinking of trying this too

I lost you all!

And I've had a rubbish week! But all is not lost. I did 'speed', so low carb, for a few days hoping that would kick start the weight loss. It didn't, and just made me miserable and I had a bit of a blowout Monday Tuesday Wednesday. But I've reeled it back in and am back on the wagon.

I'm not losing weight though. I think my thyroxine levels were driving my earlier weight loss, and now it's been adjusted back down I'm losing nothing.

I've just started orlistat. So will see what that does.

All in all, I'm not feeling very optimistic. That's ok though. I don't need to enjoy it, just keep it up and gradually increase my exercise levels.

Worst case, I get fitter and stay the same weight.

Hope you're feeling better now Kakiweewee.
I've been doing terribly this week. Lack of sleep and colicky baby have resulted in me eating way too much of the wrong stuff Sad
I will do better...
How's everyone else doing?

I hope you are starting to feel better kaki

I have done fairly well today, since wearing the Fitbit and syncing the iPhone tracking with my app I have been shocked to see just how many calories I actually burn on an average day.
My dog walk today burned just under 800 calories!

Which means that my food allowance must be absolutely off the charts...
I have been good and stuck to 1,215 calories today.

I've had a rotten cold the past couple of days, so no exercise. But I've managed to stick to the diet.

How is everyone else?

My total food today stands at.

Apple and banana.

Homemade veggie, lentil and bacon soup, with two slices tiny bread.

A baked potato with homemade chilli and steamed peas, carrots and green beans.

Four boiled eggs and a few slices of chicken as snacks.

It's blooming hard going without anything naughty.

I've been using chia, as I don't have flax in. Also chia is slightly lower calorie!

I'd forgotten apricots. I have those in.

I've had stewed rhubarb and apple, weetabix, chia, lots of fruit and veg, loads of water...

It's not getting worse, but it's not getting better either!
