Hi guys!
I'm back. sorry I've been gone for ages - I was visiting home (Dublin obv.) and was too busy getting ENGAGED to post while I was there. Have since come back but only started reading up on the threads I'd missed on Wednesday. It's taken me this long to find the new thread!!!!

Well done all for your loss so far. I haven't had the guts to step on the scales since I got back!

Am I still allowed in????????????

We're all brilliant, aren't we Grin I keep thinking about all of you lot looking over my shoulders when I eat ... keeps me on the straight and narrow Wink

New thread \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=15508&topicid=1378&threadid=174550&redir=15508\here} for Week 2 ... see you there!

Yay for usGrin. Didn't we do well! Have a feeling mine may have been mostly water, though I have been drinking plenty. It would be fab to keep that up for a few weeks, but I know that actually the healthy way is to lose a pound or 2 each week. God we're good - especially you WWB - thank you again for starting this whole thing offGrin.

ooh

for all of us. Not bad eh? I found that this thread did work like a WW weigh in, which bodes well for the future

JackieNo - what happened to "I'm just lurking"?

Congrats WWB - weight loss queen this week (beat JN on the line).

Littlefish, you and I need to beat their puny little(r) asses next week!

What a great start Grin

I was worried that I wouldn't treat this as seriously as a proper WW class but I was quite nervous getting on the scales and am more determined to do better now I see how well some of you have done!

Have emailed WWBSmile. Bit of a Shock moment until I realised that DD and DS had been playing with the scales and that even when I wasn't on them, they said 1.5 stone!

WigWamBam · 17/05/2006 14:56

Exactly!

I used to do Rosemary Conley classes, and whenever the class started to get stuck or bored, or were moaning about "only" having lost a pound that week she would bring in a pound of lard to show just how much a pound of fat lost really was, and then ask us to think about that pile of lard mounting up with every pound down.

A pound a week is fine - it went on slowly, it's going to take time to come off.

I had the same thought - if I lost a pound a week and stayed the same on weekends away/holidays then I've decided to be a happy woman.

It's going down, sue ... which is brilliant. Think how much it would add up to over a year at that rate.

The running total is looking good Smile

suejonez · 17/05/2006 14:21

OK sent not fab but OK and will be happy if I can maintain this rate going forward.

I think I'm going to count WW points - not counting anything isn;t really working for me (maybe its being an accountant!). Hopefully I have an old WW book somewhere with all th points in it.

Look forward to seeing the total weight loss and esp those who have done REALLY well. They will inspire me...

No I don't feel too bad about it. I am feeling in a very positive mood as I have done what I intended to - cut out buying crap like pasties etc, I have walking into work except on days where I was too late or was going to the gym, I've gone back to my aqua class twice a week and even went an extra day on Sunday.

Would be nice to just lose a little half pound or so though [wistful emoticon], helps the motivation for the following week.

WigWamBam · 17/05/2006 11:13

I usually find that big meals don't show on the scales until two days later ... so you could be OK! As long as the changes to your diet have been generally in the right direction then that's a good thing, even if last night's meal does show up on the scales!

This is going to be a long-term thing, and we have to be able to sustain it without going mad ... and if we can't treat ourselves along the way, or have a meal out without thinking of the scales, then it's going to be pretty miserable.

OP posts:
Report
suejonez · 17/05/2006 11:08

I'll be weighing at lunchtime, in public again Blush

Hoping last nights meal won't skew results too much as I have been OK for a first week. Not fantastic but OK.
