Associated with a cold front that's wiggling sort of north south across the UK. Torro have issued a convective discussion for the potential for isolated tornadoes. Sorry no links or extra info at this pointed. On an overcrowded wobbling train ( or is that the margarita I had with dinner?) on my phone.

Morning! Shortly after I logged off the front arrived. Lots of wind and rain, but no thunder.

Taking, tis only a little bit of rain and wind, nothing like Sandy levels, just normal British November weather welcoming us to the beginning of winter.

IOW does seem to be well positioned for tonight's fun!

Btw, I never use pcs or plugged in laptops in thunderstorms. They are a bit vulnerable to strikes. We had a strike hit the neighbours garden across the road. Approx 9 houses had variously damaged computers, phones and tellies. Was a bit scary!

I'm paranoid enough now to use a uPS on my pc.

Weathers just got a lot worse here - S.E coast of I.O.W.

Argh more lightning as I typed that.

It's quite slow Pascha, so I'm estimating around 2am, give or take an hour.

Wet here - been raining ferociously since 9pm and heard what sounded like thunder about 15 minutes ago, but rain has just slowed to a steady drizzle.

When's it likely to reach Kent, Beasty?

Ooh a proper storm mummymccar!

Brrr eerie!

Wind is gusting but I can't hear rain and I'm pinned down by cats, so I can't look.

Southampton here and we have high winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning. The sky box went offline at about 10pm and I've given up on it now.
