10 month old still not interested in food!

I’m at the end of my tether, my first born was an amazing eater and my second is the total opposite!
we tried purées for a few weeks when he turned 6 months but he hates being fed so we decided to do BLW and have done since. He’s just not interested at all! He’ll probably have about 3 mouthfuls and then clamp his mouth shut. I wound worry so much if he was a good milk drinker but he hates milk too!

for context he has CMPA, had a tongue tie that was cut twice and he’s 9th percentile so not a big baby by any means. We were really hoping food would be the magic answer for weight gain as we’ve always struggled with milk (he hates the taste of it)

has anyone else experienced the same? When do they becoming interested!? I feel so defeated!

Do you sit him at the table with you while you eat ?

I was going to start this exact thread this morning! 10 months next week, and so disinterested in food. Completely unlike his big brother, who loved eating from 6m.

He won’t entertain purées at all, so I’m attempting BLW, as he does sometimes chew on some soft vegetables or toast. Just trying to trust that he’ll eat when he’s interested, and waiting for his delayed 9m check up to talk to our HV this week. He does at least love milk, so I’m not worried about weight gain, but it’s so frustrating isn’t it!

My second was like this after an easy first baby eating wise, she eventually started taking food off her brothers plate, she went from breast milk to fish fingers, hated purée and never had any kind of milk in a bottle or cup, I fed her until 12 months and she's 18 now with no issues with food

@DustyLee123 yes we all sit together as a family for meal times

@101dalmatians is so stressful isn’t it! Thankfully yours still likes milk, my baby won’t go anywhere near it now

@MissSmiley thank you for your response this fills me with a little hope!

@SharmaD9 yes he did eventually start eating substantial amounts! He’s now 15 months and I would say he started eating better just after turning 1 years old. Good luck with it and easier said than done but try not to stress too much about it (really wish I could go back in time and not have worried so much!)

Hi in the same boat over here! My 2 year old loved purees and slight BLW but my 9 month old is not interested at all. Maybe 3 times per week, he'll eat the whole puree portion I've offered but any other time it's mouth clamped shut. He's got no interest in putting things in his mouth to try either. He has had alot of antibiotics so I'm worried that the taste of that has put him off... But anyway, I'm just going to keep offering and if he doesn't want to thats fine, as they say food before 1 is just for fun. I know it's hard but try not too stress about it, they get everything they need from their milk xx
Edit: just read the update after seeing this is an old post 😂 glad he started eating well!! Xx
