Naughty Furby - help!

Furby started off being really cute and loveable but has now turned into some kind of pervy old man. His voice has gone really deep, he is burping/farting constantly, has stopped being affectionate and seems to be leering at me. edited by MNHQ

I think he's great but my 7 year old ds wants 'nice' furby back. Does anyone know if there's anything we can do to get our original Furby back?

A valid question and comments but this original posting really made me chuckle! In particular - "he is burping/farting constantly, has stopped being affectionate and seems to be leering at me".

I bought my DD an old style Furby when she was about 3, thinking she'd love it, and she was completely traumatised and terrified by it. Even seeing an advert for one or an advert for something with a similar logo terrified her. She wouldn't go into any shops that may have them for at least a couple of years. The benefit was that she could watch no telly channels with adverts or go into any shops that sold toys til she was about 8 years old!

Well we,ve had one since christmas and at first it was really cute and had a very cute voice, now it talks like a furby with attitude and sounds like a chav. Sometimes it talks in a cross foreign voice, so it seems it has many personalitys. We,re not sure how to get it to stick to one or go back to being reallyt cute again . I think it maybe a case of the more time you spend with it the more you can shape it,s personality. My daughter rarely plays with hers as it started talking in the middle of the night and I think now it freaks her out with the angry old man voice and the chavvy voice that keeps saying blah blah to her just annoys her. So not an awful lot of time is spent with it. I however think it,s hillarious and they are very cute, but Some of the voices could be off putting for kids.

My dd(4) got one for her birthday from my parents, the ungrateful little madam told them she wanted a purple one and barely looked at it for a week. Funnily enough now the batteries have died its her favourite toy Grin

I really hate the Valley Girl Furby, so disrespectful! The sweet one is so twee is is nauseating. I like the burpy one best.

Do they all have the same 3 personalities? Sounds like it from this thread.

I still have my old Furby, and we play hide & seek & Ask Furby with it. Didn't know you could play games with the new ones.

We don't have a furby in our house .... from what you all say they sound freaky and scary!!! Ds1 is way too old (19), Dd1 is too old (13), Dd2 age 9 and ds2 age 7 would both absolutely run in horror ........
I think I'd need Wine every night because of them!! hmm .... must buy a furby when shopping tomorrow Wink

Yip floggingmolly they have personalities. After dd1 left it lying around, i took batteries out. U can't switch them off, they just go on and on and on and on until the batteries are whipped out quickly lol

You can send all unwanted furbies to me Grin.
I shall start a furbie colony, where we will all live in peace and harmony while we plot how to take over the world.

I think their creepy, spent ages trying to get one for my dd1 (whos 3) for xmas. Then i got one and she played with it for 30 mins on xmas day and that was it. It developed a scary personality lol. It had flames on it's eyes and had a wicked laugh. Their personality is shaped by how u play with it. My daughter threw it about lol. I agree tho, really expensive
