Interviews?

I'm hoping the collective wisdom of MN can help.

Just started PGCE but not in schools until next week. I might have been a little naive (or just avoided the subject to keep my sanity) but we've been advised to apply for jobs as soon as they come out in October.

I'm just starting my placement next week and won't officially start teaching practice until the second week of November so the thought of teaching a lesson at interview when I won't have taught a full lesson yet is terrifying me.

I suppose I'm looking for reassurance that schools aren't expecting a polished lesson/finished product?

It's a very quick recruitment process in teaching as well so if a jobs advertised you will hear about an interview within days of the closing date and you find out if you've got the job the day of the interview (you sometimes wait at the school while they decide) and you have to decide pretty much there and then so you can go from seeing the job ad to job offer in a few weeks- don't feel pressured to apply early. Saying that as most working teachers have to give notice to finish at Xmas just after oct half term or they can't leave till Easter (weird notice periods in teaching ) you'll start to see jobs advertised from
November for summer term
2018 and because that's a weird time for working teachers to change schools (might as well hang on till new academic year) they'll often be advertised for summer 2018 or September 2018.
