I don't have my timetable yet but as I teach at a very small SEMH school I know I'm teaching all 7 classes (year 7, year 8/9, year 9, year 10X2 and year 11x2), about 40 students in total.

Thanks for that Rosieposy - have to put it out of my mind now until September.

Thats crap negri, my last school was like that, only certain staff got the decent classes. At my current school they are shared out equally, eg you have top set y11, you will get a low/bottom set y10. Really bad that they hadn't even let you know which groups you were getting until now.

I finished yesterday and had to hunt down the member of department holding them to see it yesterday morning. Good job I did because they have totally changed my days and hours - after assuring me everything would be the same as this year. I have compromised a little and left school yesterday very upset. It is a crap timetable with all the people in senior posts taking the 'best' classes (A-level teaching, extension groups etc). I've been given all shared classes and no follow through from this year. I am used to teaching in schools where classes were shared fairly. Everyone had a mix of lower and upper ability, and anyone who wanted and/or was qualified to was given the option of teaching throughout KS3-5.
Am in the process of writing a scathing e-mail to HoD (not sure it will be sent yet though!).

I got a wrong one on Wednesday and what I think is a right one yesterday. Last day of term so all planning will need to be done in the holidays.

I teach abroad so we finished 2 weeks ago. On the last day I got a draft timetable for next term. In previous years the draft has been about 75%/80% accurate so all in all I can get most of my lessons planned for the first month of next term. i know which year groups I am teaching, but not necessarily which sets.

I went to my new school on Friday and for mine, I was impressed I was on sims already! Even got KS3 class lists just not KS4/5 yet.

MissMillament · 13/07/2015 20:27

Haven't got mine yet. Have seen it on SIMS (they think we don't know how to look) but it changes daily. And will probably still change in September. I am planning for the classes I think I will have but who knows really.

It is through the Sims report that I have seen a draft but there are apparently many changes to take place yet. So far I have only one new subject in KS4 which is externally assessed. Who knows when we get the final draft. Class won't appear until Sept but for yr 7 they are often incorrect.

Beginning of July. It's really organised here. I actually got my hours/days etc a bit earlier as I asked as I had to book sessions with the childminder.

First year I taught it was the first day of Setpember... and it was wrong!

You can view it on SIMS by going to the 'timetable of a teacher' tab, change the date to eg 02/09/15 then click refresh ... Unless your school has a policy of disabling this function (unusual), you should be able to view it. However, as others have commented above, it's obviously subject to change until term actually starts.

I find it very useful to know, as I like to be organised ahead. My school is a very well-run & supportive place, but sadly my own (small) department is prone to playground politics re. 'who's having which class', so I'm looking forward to the end of this week when the worst offender is moving on to pastures new !

When we go back in September. We know which groups we will be teaching (although subject to change).

Mind you my timetable changed 3 times this year...and a similar number of times the year before. You need to be flexible to survive at our place

We have known which groups we are getting ( mostly, a few last minute changes can occur) for a couple of weeks, timetables not formally out but if you roll sims forward to sept you can see current state of play but not set in stone! We break up in a week.

We got it on Weds but there have been a few changes since! We break up on weds.

I've known my allocations (I.e. Number of sets in each year group, 6th form modules) since before half term. Got the time table last week but won't have set lists for KS3 until inset.

Got my timetable for my new school last week but won't know classlists until.next week. The teachers in the school I trained in this year haven't got theirs yet, but they did find out today who is teaching sixth form next year so I expect it will all shake down from that and they should get timetables next week.

Only seen a draft but I would like to see the final copy as I often get a randon subject given to me at the last minute. Last year it was the last day of term.

We got ours just before 1/2 term. There was bits of tweaking after, but the main bit was through 2 weeks before 1/2 term.

I have had mine on the last day of term before now

We have had ours for a couple of weeks and it was later than usual... I'd be going mad if I didn't know what I was teaching next year at the start of September. It's important to have it at least a few weeks before the end of the year so that we can use our gained time (and summer holidays) effectively for planning.
