Handwriting Intervention programme? KS3 and 4?

My school is looking at a number of pupils who have terribly bad handwriting, where dyspraxia and any other developmental delay has been ruled out.

Has anyone ever heard of, or better still, done any handwriting intervention with this age group?

My (dyspraxic) ds's secondary school made him go through a handwriting intervention.

I offered to do it with him at home to avoid missing lesson time, but they insisted that he sat with a T.A to do handwriting exercises in school, taking time out of his English lessons. English is the one lesson he can't afford to miss! (can you tell that I wasn't happy about it!?)

Hexbramble - When will this intervention take place? What lesson time will they miss?
Pupils with dyspraxia/SPLD difficulties can't afford to be missing lesson time as they are likely to have some kind of processing difficulty, so they will already be 'missing' parts of the lessons that they are actually present for!

Why can't they use laptops? Is it a funding issue? Can't you use the pupil premium?

We use the Teodorescu Perceptuo-Motor programme.
We use it in year 1 and 2, though I imagine it would be suitable with older children.
It will be far more difficult to retrain older children however.
