Worried - beautiful rescue kept in by vets

Jumped out of a window on Wed. Seemed OK wed & thur.
So not her lovely friendly self. Took her to normal vets yesterday and they said OK, some inflammation on hip, temp normal. Then sick twice yesterday evening/night.
We have only had her 10 months. She's 11.
Not herself at all this morning, emergency vets, temperature, they are going to do bloods. They don't seem overly concerned but are saying gastritis or pancreatitis?

Highly anxious (as in clinical, impacts day to day life, not just a bit of a worrier) DD 17 still asleep, I will have to manage her concerns as well as mine.

Can someone talk to me?

Now at specialists.
Good thing we have insurance but still have to pay 20%... We might still hit insurance limit at this rate though.

DD in tears last night thinking DCat wouldn't last the night, and saying she (cat) is suffering. DCat not eaten since we picked her up at 6pm yesterday, back to vets today. Yesterday they were talking about transferring her to a specialists...

She ate a bit last night, but sorry for herself again this morning and refused food. Back at vets for monitoring.
Probably partly because we failed to get all the pain relief into her last night. I didn't dare try again this morning in case we failed again and then the vets wouldn't know how much she had had.
DD has not gone to college, exhausted. But she's passed this year's course so not an issue.

Glad she is home for now!

She is currently in our hall watching the Big Cats programme on the TV (that we have put on especially for her as she likes wildlife TV).

Love it. You are a true cat slave!

I'm really sorry to hear that your DCat is still under the weather. I do think eating is a good sign, cats are notorious for not eating when they are properly unwell. Fingers crossed that she is on the mend soon, I do understand how worrying it is.

We collected cat from emergency vets 40mins away at 7:15am brought her to our driveway, picked up DD and took her to our vets when they opened.
DCat is eating and not vomiting, is on antibiotics. But temperature has been going up and down still. Was 40.5 at one point (apparently v high), but 38.something(OK) at our vets this morning. Still not herself though.
We agreed DCat would stay at our vets today so they could monitor her (I don't feel at all qualified) and hope to pick her up this evening.

DD is stressed as am I.

How is your cat doing OP? Eating is usually a good sign, I hope she is on the mend.

I really feel for you - my DD had a significant mental health crisis at the end of last year. We got a kitten and he has bought her so much joy and definitely contributed to her recovery. But oh my god, the anxiety I now have over the cat (and I don't usually struggle too much with anxiety). If he ever seems off colour, or off his food, or anything really, I am an absolute wreck. I have developed cat health anxiety, if such a thing exists!

Thanks for the support.
We have to collect her first thing tomorrow to transfer to our vets. She's eaten OK, but temp still up.
So tomorrow we have to do a 1hr round trip, then wait ~30mins for our vets to open, then later in morning have annual review for DD's EHCP with college which I need to be very on the ball for. Luckily that is by zoom.

Fingers crossed. My cat was very I'll with pancreatitis, but bounced back very quickly. Paws crossed

Thank you. They said they would phone between 6 and 8pm, and that no news was good news.
DD is struggling, but we had a walk and saw lots of ponies including foals so that helped.

They are saying she's v. dehydrated and on a drip. That they'll call this evening.
DD has gone back to bed. I'll have to take her up breakfast and encourage her to eat so she can have her own meds.

I've told DD. Unfortunately I can't fob her off about the cat, plus she is studying Animal Care. But have told her the vet doesn't seem overly concerned. At least it is nearly the end of term, DD has completed this year's course and sat her English Lang GCSE.

I didn't massively want a cat, she was for DD, but I have grown pretty attached. I keep thinking I can hear her little bell, and expect to see her little face coming in the door.

As for DD, I wouldn't say anything until she asks where the cat is. Then I'd say I'd had to pop her down to the vets for a check up & had to leave her as they were really busy.

Deal with things as they happen.
