My kittens STINK!

And guests have even started to comment on it. One is far worse than the other he passes wind a lot and it's awful! The vet said to worm them again so we did to no change. I have tried fortiflora which offered a small improvement but switched to regutum as it's much cheaper but doesn't seem to be helping at all. Any suggestions anyone?! We are on felix kitten they have 2 pouches each a day with dry food available.

Have a read about regutum on viovet that's what I've tried and it seems to be helping!

Spoke too soon. Cat 2's poos have gone back to being a bit runny and farts smell too Sad he's seeing the vet next week about something else so I'll keep a close eye on it and if he doesn't improve I'll ask vet about it.

Thank you @woodwaj I've picked up some Ava and we're slowly switching off. Poss tmi but their poos seem to be a lot better and I haven't noticed them farting as much either.

Arden Grange is a great one and its usually cheaper on Amazon Prime. Sainsburys own brand grain free wet is a good price.

Butchers is the best cheap wet food

Natures menu is nice, but expensive

Zooplus have good brands (mac's, GranataPet etc)

We're having the same problems. They're on the same food as when we got them - Purina Kitten. They still stink to high heaven though and are constantly farting! They're two boys and have both been neutered and wormed recently.

The regutum seems to be kicking in! Their tray has smelt much better over the last 24 hours. Going to go to pets at home tomorrow and buy some new food! I really appreciate all the advice it's been really helpful. I've already took them off agail and saw a slight improvement!

Definitely food

The better quality the food the less you need to feed them.

Ours smell like butter and their trays never stink

My two aren't too bad on ordinary Felix pouches (the cheaper ones) but they stink on AGAIL and it also upsets one of their tummies. As others have said, it's worth trying some different cat food.

Love the photos, Mr Stinkies is a cross of my two boys in the face!

Wainwrights dry seems to have a lot of rice

Mine liked the AVA kitten dry food. Is grain free with a reasonable amount of meat

Report
woodwaj · 06/02/2019 22:35

I was also looking at Arden grange dry food or would you stick to wainwrights for both?

That's a pets at home own brand I think. Certainly better than a lot of them

Can anyone tell me if wainwrights wet food is any good?

Last time I spoke to the vets (just before Christmas) she advised to worm again and if not change to dry food only. I'm not too keen to do that as I think theyll go mad so it looks like a change of diet might be the next option!!

They are cute. Just so stinky!!

My kitten started off on whiskas when I first got him (that’s what he was being fed at this “birth mums” house. I switched him to Lily’s kitchen and he not only grew into a big strong laddie but also doesn’t have the stinking gag-worthy poos he used to!

Meat derivatives are just the bits we, as humans, don't eat or like to eat and cats are meant to eat every bit of an animal, not just the pretty meat parts we like to have in our meals. Just means the meaty bits have been derived from an animal which are fit to eat.

It might be the food contains wheat etc which cats shouldn't be eating. I switched mine to wheat free and no more farting! Funnily enough they refused to touch some of the posh "all meat" brands and one of mine kept bringing me mice until I switched back to a cheaper wheat free one. They so need to start making cat food containing mouse parts! :D

We feed our cats applaws too. It was their main food as small kittens and now supplements their science plan dry food. They love it!

Mr Stinky knows he stinks and just does not care. Mr Stinky's pal denies all knowledge of stink.

Yep Marmitebread I only use Applaws tins as a treat.
