What words do your cats understand?

Mine understands 'Tuna' & if I say want to go out she goes to the door. My other cat that died knew tuna too. If I wanted them to come in I would just shout tuna & they would run in.

My old cat would run to the door when she heard DH's car. DH no longer car commutes but our current one doesn't seem to behave like that.

Will run up if she hears treat box being shaken.

Their names, out, down, food?, milk?. find DD and kisses. OH also does 2 different meows for food and milk and they respond to the one they want.

My face thing is when one of them comes in she repeatedly shouts a meow that sounds exactly like how my DD shouts hello when she comes in. As soon as you call back "up here!" or whatever, she reverts to her normal meow or chirps and comes to find you.

Only one of them responds to her name, but that's our fault for calling them things like kittycats, kittens, boys, girls, little fuckers, fluffy wuffys, babies and all sorts of crap collectively instead of just calling the cats by their names.

I am embarrassed to say that when it is feeding time I sing a song which makes them come running from all over.

Also they recognise our car engine noises, and sit on the drive awaiting our arrival.

Mine know nom noms as in its nom noms time! Brekkie, and din dins. Lillie knows her name, as does shadow. Storm, well, he's a bit dim!

They also know my routine inside out and I find myself saying, Lillie, no it's not nom noms time yet, I haven't got my make up on .....

My little dilly cat always knew I was on my way home by racing to the front door, DP reckoned that given I always turned up a few minutes later I hadn't even turned into our road!

And I think they know when I say to dh its bed time as they immediately zoom up to the bedroom and camp under the bed.

Mine know their names and will respond to them individually I have Alfie, Harvey and Maisie which sounds similar

If I am in the same room as them and call one the others wont respond however If I am in the Kitchen and call Harvey the others will rush in in case Harvey is getting something they're not

If I stand at the back door and whisper the word Tuna the 2 pests will turn up in less than a millinanosecond. If I stand there and yell their names- nothing.
We had a cat who DH taught to say 'Eh-0h' for hello as in the Tellytubby way. It was v funny. We thought he was a cat genius but turned out he was the thickest cat we had ever owned and he was a bit of a one trick pony. Sweet and furry though. I miss him.

Mine says Hello in different tones depending on if she's calling me or Mr Tabitha. Hello is usually her asking where we are and Alright is said on finding us. So first it's herroooo..alwiit. She understands absolutely everything and I think she knew she had an appointment with the vet I had forgotten about!

Found out today mine know the word "noodles". They are very keen on the Animonda Chicken, Duck & noodles pouches that are included in the range of wet foods they get for breakfast. When my brother asked what I was having for lunch & I replied "noodles" the cats suddenly came galloping into the kitchen at full tilt looking VERY optimistic. And paid an awful lot of attention to my meal. And saying "no, MY noodles" got me swatted at crossly.

My cats are special. Yes, yes, they are.

Mine doesn't understand anything that I say to her, but she expects me to understand everything that she says to me. Today we had a loud one sided conversation that involved a cushion being removed from a chair that she wanted to sit on.

I used to have a cat who could say "out" and "food".

My cats know their names, and one of our cats responds two pats on your thigh, which means he has to jump up on you, and he always does.
