Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh. They are drawing me in. Moth to a flame. SO much character and attitude in a fur coat.

I really think our cat would cope with another. He is very laid back. Maybe he would have someone to play with then at 3am?!

I'm now wondering if the kids and I might just pop along to say hello to some cats this week, just hello of course.

(Next door's cat has had the door shut in his face a couple of times as I'm not allowed to let him in. With two cats of my own I could honestly say I lost count and hadn't noticed another one .... )

She's just settled on my lap purring while I type. She seems tiny compared to our huge longhaired boy. Half his size, though seemingly bold enough to stand her ground with the kids so hopefully they'll make peace and share in the end.

Teal is a great name. Did it take long to decide? Did you get to see my favourite with the vets collar?

She is 2, found as a stray, we are calling her Teal (as in Abney and Teal cbeebies) though DD is trying to get us to agree to StringsofspagettiSparkle Cat.

Because Teal is shut in the study it's ok with going in and out but yes, I'm going to need to watch the 2 year old!

Sounds all good. How are you going to manage the one cat going out and one not thing? I would worry the Dss would let the new cat out accidentally. Grin

What's the new one's name and what's her history?

So far he has only smelt her box and her scent on my hands. He seems interested but not aggressive or stressed. Have given him dreamies both times and lots of fuss, so planning to keep that up with them both for a few days so they associate each others smell with fuss and food.

Am trying to follow the CP guidelines on softly softly to give them the best shot at friendship when they meet. Besides, she needs to be kept in for 3 weeks or so anyhow. She has the study, litter, food, water, blanket under desk. So far she has come for cuddles, eaten and is now staring out the window tail flicking at birds. She is utterly at ease with the kids too and they are not the quietest!

Arw sparkling she's a real beauty. Our boy doesn't really have any cat friends, he enjoys a good brawl occasionally instead. He's neutered and I like to think he doesn't go out looking for it Grin think he's just not much of a cat lover. I think a friendship with the lady cat from next door might be blossoming though, I saw them sitting on the shed roof ignoring each other last week so I'm hoping that with age (he's 8) he will soften and then we can find a nice lady companion who needs a forever home. In the meantime I'm perfectly happy to indulge in his only cat privileged status. Dh said he was like a spoilt little prince this morning Grin think that sums up the situation here pretty well Grin

I know, I am always drawn to the ones that aren't cute. But the cat will choose us, last time some fled from the kids, some ignored them, some hid, but our wonderful feline wandered over, got poked and petted, was totally happy in their chaotic exploring his pen company.

And he just happened to be an utterly beautiful longhaired tabby boy. Despite me planning on not getting long haired and not getting a pretty one as I figured they'd be rehomed easier.
