New thread for second series of Hidden.

Shown 4 days in advance on BBC Wales, so anyone watching on BBC4 should watch out for spoilers between tues-sat each week. Unless you want to start a separate thread!

Link to BBC web page where Series 1 is available on line www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p066st1w. Assume series 2 will become available online.

The Welsh language version on this was shown last summer, so if you watched it please dont post any spoilers!! Thanks Smile

I am confused how Glyn can simultaneously live in the middle of absolutely nowhere but also be able to walk to a corner shop on a large estate.

I’m enjoying this so far. Lots of different plot lines, not exactly sure what’s going on yet....

Just a update that the 3rd series of Hidden started last night on BBC4. A good first episode with lots of action plus favourite characters returning.

I thought the last shot of Conor was him crying as he was being charged in the police station.

And the other one also got charged didn't he?

I'm not sure that it is confusing just not very convincing.

Young girl / woman with a shitty home life goes well at school but picks on those weaker than her to torment and bully, and push into doing terrible things.

Two young men seem to be totally terrified of her and the go out and about to do mischief one of which ends in murder.

Just dont believe people in the community wouldn't have had some idea about them / her.

But I suppose for the plot devious they had to show them behaving badly while the police plodded along.

Or maybe it was just to show that some people lead reallyl shitty lives.

Sharpkat - your question reminded me I hadn't seen the whole episode having fallen asleep.

So watched the last half and what I think is this. The second series is only a few months after the close of the last series. And although I cant remember the plot properly from the first series, there was not only the crime but the fact that there had been some sort of cover up. And Cadi's dad was implicated.

Presumably this all, or some of it became public knowledge. So Mia was just insulting Cadi by not only implying she wasn't any good at her job but that her father was worse and complicit in crime. Part of the who do you think you are thinking you can question me / have a superior attitude.

I am not sure, what with falling asleep the first time and only starting half way through the second time, if any explanation was every given as to why Mia was the way she was. Evidently she had been like this for some time and somehow persuaded others to follow her.

And in the meantime apparently doing okay in school?!

And appeared to be saying going to prison wouldn't be a problem as she always made friends where ever she was.

But it was all very slow. And somehow just didn't really seem to work.

Or hard to be engaged when every body seemed to awful or apathetic.

I was not concentrating 100% on the last episode. Is anyone able to give me a quick summary at all?

What was the reference by Mia to Cadi's father?

Thanks!

I've been watching this too. I'm finding it heavy going for all the reasons already stated on the thread but I'm stubborn so I'm sticking with it Grin.

I'm watching too, stumbledin Wink I'm slightly wearied by the inevitability of the 'tecs finally putting 2 and 2 together with two episodes to go. It's feeling much more formulaic this time round. Although I'll be watching the denouement on Sat.

I think the first murder happened because the trio were just being as shitty as they always are, and because the one who had remorse was being bullied by them and it all went to far.

Could never work out why he went round with them.

I think the girl is just a nutter. Yes abused but doesn’t mean she has to go round killing people

I've watched Ep 5 - so I think there is one more?

I am only watching because I want to understand why the first murder happened, but it's SO bleak and depressing. And yes, Cadi is irritating me now......

I watched last night and wont say too much about plot development for those watching on saturdays.

But am now being irritated by the lead detective. She always seems to be mooning around, getting sentimental about her dad, but is basically a detatched observer of her family.

I have actually counted, but I think the ratio of good / long suffering dads, to bad / uncaring mothers is getting out of hand.

(Have to admit this has been so depressing that I gave myself a holiday from gloom and despondency and watched McDonald and Dodds. Not as crass as Midsummer Murders and interesting dynamic between a youngish go getter female boss from London who is partnered with an end of career older man hopelessly out of step with modern policing. And Bath is lovely)
