Anyone watching this. I can’t see a thread.
Similar format the GBBO I think. Except it’s on the BBC.

Just watched this on catch up. Suzie deserved to win and I liked her more as she calmed down. I would love to eat Sarah and Georgia’s food too but Suzie was best all round.

Georgia always looked like she was trying to launch a social media career

Yes that was my impression and I've no idea how she made it to the final. MB seemed to strongly favour her throughout the series, even the disastrous kidney bean cake only attracted mild comments compared to her snarks for some of the other contestants.

I'd like to see more of Hartnett and less of MB.

I thought Suzie was the right winner, as It is called ‘home cook’ and for that reason she fitted the brief. . The only contestant I did not like was the man that left first. I notice he was not in this weeks episode.

I love programmes showing people doing their hobbies. I don’t know what it is about the contestants, but I love most of them. I Admire their passion and their creativity. So many of them are willing to help the other contestants.

liked Georgia she was not just a clever cook, but clever at marketing herself at a particular section of the viewers. Most definitely, she is looking for a television career with the youth market.

Glad I'm not the only one who found Georgia pretentious. Her beef looked good though and was possibly the most sensible thing she cooked. Don't think she thought through who the consumer woukd be that well. Please Suzie won.

i was glad Suzie won. I hope MB leaves. I would like Angela to do more. really like her. she is kind but firm.
I thought Georgia was amazing for her age, but very annoying. she should have gone when she messed up her pastry.

I can't stand Georgia either - not her fault she's pretty - but it is her fault that she seems to think it makes her superior to the others (and tbh, I've never forgiven her for a birthday cake with chickpeas and kidney beans - I mean REALLY?)

I've liked Suzie all the way though and am really glad she won.

Suzi was definitely the clear winner! I think Sarah should have been in the final, though.

Suzie grew on me through the series and I definitely thought she was a deserving winner.

I would have preferred that Sarah was in the final over Georgia though. Such a shame that she messed the pasta challenge up.

Georgia seemed to think she was in a fashion show. Even DH commented on her outfits last night.

I thought Georgia's dessert looked the better of the two but her starter and main looked horrible to me. The starter looked like cat sick and the main with the meat so bloody yuk yuk. I know the judges said they thought it was cooked well but I don't know one single person in real life that would eat it that undercooked

Well deserved for Suzie! Really enjoyed this series and was especially impressed by Angela. She was nice and fair.
I was disappointed that Sarah was not in the final two though. I prefer her to Georgia.

Love that Suzie won, but not sure she should have given the dodgy dessert. She's been the most home cook like all series though.

Well done Suzie. Excellent result.

You make a good point re the fresh v tinned tuna, but at the same time, tinned tuna is practically indestructible. I've never thought "I must use up this tuna or it will go off !" In five years' time. I think a focus on using up things you might throw away from the fridge might be better, so you bought a lovely tuna steak on Saturday but forgot you were going out Sunday and Monday, it's Tuesday night and you need to cook or chuck.

If I open a tin of tuna and there is some left in the fridge it would become the dog's dinner.

I have to admit to a bit of a snigger when Georgia came into one challenge wearing a crop top.

And I do admit it’s usually for making a sandwich when all else fails but I think I could conjure up something else with it if necessary (and not a salad)

I think considering the contestants homes shown during the first episode (especially Georgia) I would expect them to have fresh tuna and not a tin in sight.

Well I have a nice home and I still have a tin of tuna 😳 admittedly it’s in the cupboard and out of sight.

Did he really give them tinned tuna? What a dick that man is, I do hope this programme sees the end of his television career.

But the whole point of that challenge is that they have to make something from an ingredient we all have in our cupboards. In previous editions they'd done pears, leftover roast chicken, cauliflower. Everyone has a can of tuna, not many people would have fresh tuna steaks just lying around waiting to be used up.

I think Georgia would be great having her own show, she's gorgeous and would appeal to young people and might get them interested in cooking.

Which is exactly why Georgia is on the show. She has no interest in winning, or being the best home cook. She just wants a telly career. Probably making woke, hipster kidney bean cakes in her teeny tiny dresses, and pouting lots.

I think out of the other two, I'd prefer Suzie to win.

A decent tuna melt with a salsa for dipping would have been better than a salad.

I've never liked Mary as I've always seen the spiteful side on GBBO, in fact she and Paul put me off the programme for years. Though curiously I tolerate her when she isn't around PH. Angela I respect immensely but I think some of the challenges are a bit daft on here.

I think all the contestants are decent cooks actually, much better and more versatile than on Masterchef or GBBO.

I mainly just make sandwiches

That's what I told DH I would have made.

However, he did point out that I would have used nice, seedy bread and proper butter, softened, what with it being a competition and everything.

I do think some of the things they do aren't representative of home cooking. I see this as family cooking, so the pie one was good. But I'd like to have seen more of the budget type cooking rather than always using expensive ingredients. Definitely prefer Angela to Mary as a judge, Angela seems fairer with no clear favourites.
