Young POsh Woman to Win Masterchef

So I've started watching Masterchef LArging It with the kids.

And John Torode is really starting to get on my wick. First off, he put through plummy pretty pert Harriet even though he admitted that someone else had made the best plate of food ever.

I'm thinking, is he a sexist lizard-eyed blurke?

Then today, he puts through semi-plummy pretty pert Natasha even though Greg disagreed once more, her goat's cheese tart had nothing to it, she mixed rice with grapefruit and neither of them liked her pudding.

So. I can now predict that Harriet will win Masterchef.

The 'tomato water' was an interesting idea - never heard of that before!

Think the heats were last summer. I remember lasts series the later round contestants used "seasonal" produce which was deifnitely autumnal.

Loved the look of the tiramisu !

Is Masterchef filmed in the summer? All the contestants look tanned and are wearing summer clothes.

Really pleased that Hannah won. She looks like a character from Upstairs Downstairs

I wonder if Hayley is a mumsnetter - perhaps she will see this and join

I am absolutely that they got rid of John tonight before he even cooked! I thought he was one of their faves!

this week they've really gone with the best cooks the whole way through (perhaps they read the thread pointy )

felt sorry for Hayley tonight (though pleased Hannah got it) - she looked devastated

Was Gerry the "management consultant" from Norn Irun? (I miss the Friday show) Didn't like him just because he was a "management consultant"

Gregg is 29? and double

I'd still like clarification on what a "clean plate of food" is. That is what I expect after the food is eaten not before.

I do tend to agree more with what Gregg says (and at least most of his comments bear resemblance to the food in front of him)

but you know if he gets given a good pud, he'll get your vote

e.g. you could see that Gerry was going to be voted off this week (in the quarter final) because he was too in-yer-face arrogant for John!

SURELY they must both be late 30s at least!

28 / 29 my proverbial

pointydog · 18/02/2007 17:06

wow, I thought greg was older than that. I'm with you though, moles, I do have a soft spot for him.

And adad, you are right, the thick tongue thing is revolt and sickable.

yeah, I reckon John's around 40 and Gregg's around 38ish.

Report
Molesworth · 18/02/2007 17:03

I would've guessed at 36

foxinsocks · 18/02/2007 17:01

lol

I reckon he's late 30s/early 40s surely

Molesworth · 18/02/2007 16:58

How old would you guess Gregg to be though?

His MySpace profile claims he is 28 (or 29, I forget and can't be bothered to check)

aDad · 18/02/2007 16:57

god yes.

it just has to be sweet and he gets a delirious smile on his face.

I love Gregg!

Just for his "pudding face"

Report
foxinsocks · 18/02/2007 16:55

he is pudding obsessed though isn't he (Gregg)

aDad · 18/02/2007 16:54

I'll stick up for Greg!

I think he has more insightful points to make about food.
And I think he comes across far better than John.
Seems like a nicer bloke.
He isn't a bug-eyed chameleon type.

Tinker, your "what, exactly, is the point of Greg Wallace?" should be quote of the week.

Greg's a food writer and ingredients expert (snigger) doncha know

in fact, by the end of this series, I reckon I'll be able to recite those opening lines off by heart

Report
aDad · 18/02/2007 15:34

Have you seen the way John eats though??!

It is not nice viewing - he sticks his oversize tongue out a mile as the spoon or fork approaches. ewwww. Maybe he really is a lizard?

The producers or his family have obviously told him about it this series, because he's toned it down a bit.

Report
Tinker · 18/02/2007 15:30

Greg Wallace is there to just peer sternly over his glasses.
