It's hilarious but strangely addictive! One drama after the next, it's like OBEM crossed with an NCT group with every ex soap star you can think of apart from Hermione Norris who is acting her socks off as usual!

So bad it's good! Every single labour has come on ridiculously quickly - even the first timers are done within minutes.

Not Jasmine's. And ISTR one of the others - possibly Kim? - clearly being in discomfort for some time before she went into full blown labour.

It's the maternity version if footballers wives. Trash tv at its best :-)

not read the whole thread but loving hating In the club, here is what I learnt so far:
Only positive thing that will happen to you is breastfeeding - this is always easy
If you have a home birth your midwife might not make it on time.
Behave and don't expect to be asked for consent for internal exams, there's a "good girl".
You will need to be told when to push.
You labour on your back.
Lesbians hang pictures of naked women in their bedrooms to remind them they like naked women, except they are actually a bit desperate for cock.
Pack your make-up and smart outfits and heels in your hospital bag - everyone scrubs up RIGHT after having a baby.
If you attend NHS antenatal class you will in return make instant friends for life.
You WILL want an epidural, hypnobirthing is for sillies!.
Don't cuddle babies - they need to spend 99% of their time in car seats even when not in cars.
Don't co-sleep.

Biggest load of propeganda EVER

Can't wait for next episode :-D

P'd me off though in the episode with Rosie's baby (where she worries she's stopped breathing)... why oh why must they always show co-sleeping as a deadly unsafe activity? The baby was found sleeping in her front but nobody pointed out the far greater dangers of that! Instead it was instead 'Rosie don't sleep with your baby again' grrrr! :(
Rowena's going to have a fling with her new 'FIL' isn't she?

Love it . Love the blonde one that used to be in Cold Feet.

This is very very poor. Everybody's going to get a happy ending too by the look of things so far. But the man has to receive a custodial sentence for the attempted armed robbery I would think?

It was jill halfpenny standing and walking around about 20 minutes after a crash section that had me rolling my eyes. Can't stop myself watching it though. I second whoever guessed Jude will be the father of Rosie's baby.

And yes - what a waste of TFG's acting abilities.

Dame, I have a lot of friends who haven't been through labour before, but wouldn't behave in that bizarre panto way

Rubbish it is. The belching and the other wind noises! I've never heard pregnant women do that so loudly, proudly and publicly.

I think the baby is going to look completely different to Jaz's husband, a crop of blonde hair perhaps, making it very obvious that he is not the father.

It's utter rubbish but strangely addictive.
Does it look likely that teenage son of Tara Fitzgerald (isn't this a bit low brow for her?) is the father of his classmate's baby?
I think Jaz's husband knows the baby isn't his.

What on earth was Simon's mum all about?! She behaved as if she'd never seen anyone in labour before far less been through it herself. When the waters broke she screeched "what's that?!" She was like a comedy panto character

It's really dreadful rubbish.

But I am rather enjoying it Blush - I can't help but watch anything with babies (and mine are bigger now) and I always enjoy Kay Mellor programmes.

I am very distracted by all the familiar faces - Jambo from Hollyoaks, the very wooden actor from Casualty that fathered the teacher's baby, and Hermione's nasty husband is the comedy policeman from Doc Martin, isn't he? The young girl with the baby is quite good though. And Gill Halfpenny is very watchable IMHO.

I've been watching on recommendation Confused

It is really dire. Dreadful dialogue, acting, over acting, and so on and so on

Yes, the men are all helpless, hopeless etc

I'm not so sure that the bad teeth are false. Unless she is curiously attached to them! I'm sure she had them in everything I've seen her in. Not sure why every character she plays seems the same (slightly vacuous, harmless, always smiling). As PP said, the constant smiling is inappropriate.

But every single man bar none is a fool/clown.

I think it'll scare pregnant women; very few labours are that quick, but I guess it'd be boring to watch a woman go 'oh my god, this pain can't get any worse... oh my god- this pain is worse!' for 12 hours or so.

I was so scared I wouldn't know when I was in labour, and would end up giving birth in a toilet somewhere. In hindsight, not so much. Labour was pretty clear!

I like the show, but it's daft, predictable and unrealistic. I'll still watch the rest.
