i love thisBlush usually makes me cry.
Doubt the England footy team will win the team awardGrin
But WHY are Posh, Becks and sons sat on the front row? She is such a miserable looking woman!!
But the good thing is every time the camera goes to them, Michael Johnson is sat next to them- and he is gorgeous.Blush

Well done AP! Truly deserved he's a great ambassador for National Hunt racing.

Well deserved winner. He clearly adores his daughter. Would not want to be a NH jockey's wife/girlfriemd/mother - wondering if they are going to walk thro the door each evening after racing. They can ride in 5 or 6 races in an afternoon and could sustain a life threatening/changing injury in anyone of them. Heroes all.

So much else going on, I suppose, CaveMum ... which isn't entirely a bad thing IMHO. Tho it is sad when what used to be national events drift into obscurity ... (not that the Derby or National are there yet, just saying ...)

Tony McCoy is the first jockey to win SPOTY. Frankie Dettori was third in the year of his Magnificent Seven (96 or 97) - he rode the winner of every race on one day at Ascot.

Sadly horseracing doesn't get the exposure it used to. Time was everyone knew the name of that years Derby or Grand National winner, but not anymore.

Get in AP!

The bookies will have taken a right bashing! He was odds on and racing folk have been piling in like there's no tomorrow!

I think he's the first jockey to win it, too. I know that Princess Anne and Zara have both won it but they aren't jockeys in the same sense.

Caveman, AP it is. thank you.

Why isn't Giggsy presenting the awards? I thought it was last years winner who was supposed to do it!

We were offered tickets for this but we couldn't get babysitters. To be honest I'd have tried a bit harder if I'd known how good it would have been! Instead we are watching from the sofa.

Oblomov, his name is Anthony Peter McCoy but within racing he is often just referred to as AP.

Another one for Cav. He is absolutely amazing. I've been watching cycling for a while and to win so convincingly, so often, is fantastic.

And with you on the games rather than sports.

I once heard a racing commentator say "Men like AP McCoy are not born: they are quarried"

You could not find a better sportsman as a role model for kids: dedicated, humble and completely teetotal!

When he broke his back in a fall about 2 years ago he was back raceriding in 6 weeks! 6 weeks for crying out loud! Most footballers would take longer off for a broken finger!
